How to Increase Print Speed by Giving Priority to Either Thin Paper or Heavy Paper
You can improve the overall productivity by giving priority to either heavy paper or thin paper. Check the solution below.

The temperature of the fixing unit in the machine is adjusted constantly according to the type of paper and the paper's basis weight. As a result, when you switch the type of paper for a job, the machine needs to adjust the temperature according to the paper and you may need to wait for the temperature to change. For this reason, we provide a way to improve the overall productivity by roughly specifying priority for either heavy paper or thin paper.
Example: To print on both Thin 1 (64 g/m2 (17 lb bond)) and Plain 1 (80 g/m2 (21.3 lb bond)) for a job
Technically, the temperature of the fixing unit for Thin 1 (64 g/m2 (17 lb bond)) and Plain 1 (80 g/m2 (21.3 lb bond)) paper is different. If you set [Thin Paper Priority] in the following procedure, you can reduce the waiting time and improve productivity because the temperature of the fixing unit is optimized for paper with a small basis weight (less than 180 g/m2 (66.6 lb Cover)).

Press 
→ [Adjustment/Maintenance] → [Adjust Image Quality] → [Switch Fixing Temperature Adjustment Mode].

Press [Productivity Priority (Auto)].

Select [Thin Paper Priority] → press [OK] → [OK].

Start Printing.
NOTE
If you set [Productivity Priority] for this setting, uneven gloss may occur or toner may not be properly applied to the image, under the certain conditions.
If you select [Thin Paper Priority] and then print on paper with a basis weight greater than 129 g/m2 (66.6 lb Cover), the time you wait while temperature adjusts may increase.
Besides the above mentioned settings, you can improve productivity by giving priority to heavy paper with a basis weight over than 180 g/m2 (34.3 lb bond), or you can give priority to image quality by optimizing the temperature for all types of paper. For more information, see the following.
