Streaks Appear/Printing Is Uneven
A possible cause may be that appropriate paper is not used or the amount remaining in toner cartridges is running low. Check the following.
Is [POP Printing Optimization] configured on the printer driver?
Change the setting of <POP Printing Speed> to <Mode 2>.
NOTE
If you select <Mode 2>, the print speed may be slower.
Perform calibration for POP printing.
Are you using appropriate paper?
Check usable paper, and replace with appropriate paper.
Have you cleaned the fixing unit?
Are you using the machine in an environment with high humidity?
Change the setting of <Special Density Mode>. Selecting <On> may improve the problem.
NOTE
If you select <On> and use the machine in an environment with low humidity, printed images or text may be smudged.
Has color mismatch correction or hue correction been performed properly?
Change the setting of <Corr. Color Mismatch>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
NOTE
If you select <On>, the print speed may be slower.
If the effect of the color mismatches or color streaks (lines) is unacceptably strong, perform calibration.
Change the setting of <Plain Ppr Clr Corr 2>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
NOTE
This setting may not be enabled if <On> is selected for certain setting items.
Change the setting of <Corr. Drum Line>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
Change the setting of <Corr. White Line>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
NOTE
If you select <On>, ghost images may appear.
Does this problem occur when you print in black and white?
Change the setting of <Correct B&W Density>. Changing the setting of this item may solve the problem.
NOTE
If you specify <Mode 1>, set <Auto Detect Ppr Type> to <Do Not Use> for the paper source to use.
With <Mode 1> or <Mode 2> specified, the CMYK toners are consumed even in black and white printing depending on the paper type used. Further, the print speed may be slower.
With <Off> specified, black and white printing may result in uneven print density.
Does color mismatch occur when printing on heavy paper?
Change the setting for <Rdc Hvy 3 Clr Msmtch>. When printing on some heavy paper, changing the setting of this item may solve the problem.
NOTE
The degree of improvement may vary depending on paper to use for printing. If the print results are not as expected, try printing by switching the setting between <Mode 1> and <Mode 2>.
Does continuous printing result in uneven print density?
Change the setting of <Corr Consc Prnt Void>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
Do streaks (lines) appear after cleaning of the fixing unit?
Change the setting of <Correct B&W Streaks>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
NOTE
If you select <On>, the print speed may be slower. Also, ghost images may appear.
Do horizontal streaks appear depending on the paper type or the settings of the machine?
Change the setting of <Rdc Bndg for Low Spd>. Setting to <On> may solve the problem.
Is the amount remaining in toner cartridge running low?
Check the toner cartridge status indication, and perform toner cartridge replacement as necessary.
Regardless of the toner cartridge status indication, one or more toner cartridges may have reached the end of their lifetime due to the machine's environmental conditions and the deteriorated materials in the cartridges. Replace the toner cartridge.
Is the amount remaining in drum cartridge running low?
Check the drum cartridge status indication, and perform drum cartridge replacement as necessary.
Regardless of the drum cartridge status indication, one or more drum cartridges may have reached the end of their lifetime due to the machine's environmental conditions and the deteriorated materials in the cartridges. Replace the drum cartridge.
