How to Perform Automatic Gradation Adjustment

Perform automatic gradation adjustment (Full Adjust) to output CMYK colors properly. Check the solutions below.
If you use the imagePRESS Server, perform automatic gradation adjustment, and then perform calibration on the imagePRESS Server.
If you want to use paper other than the recommended paper, you need to register calibration standards.

If You Use Plain Paper and Calibrate for All Types of
Paper: Simple Calibration

Load the paper into the paper drawer.
Load the recommended paper or paper for calibration whose calibration standards are registered.

Press  → [Adjustment/Maintenance] → [Adjust Image Quality] → [Auto Adjust Gradation].

Press [Adjustment Level] → [Same for All Paper Types] → [OK].

Confirm that [Standard] (for the recommended paper) or "the paper for calibration that you loaded in step 1" is selected for [Select Paper to Adjust].

Perform automatic gradation adjustment (Full Adjust).

Select the paper Drawer where you loaded the paper in step 1 as the paper source for test printing.

If necessary, do calibration on the imagePRESS Server.

If You Use Different Calibration Settings for Different Paper Types: Enhanced Calibration

You can print more accurately by calibrating the colors according to the types of paper.

Load the paper into the paper drawer.
Based on the type of paper you use, load the paper for calibration whose calibrationstandards are registered, or one of the following recommended papers.
For the European and Asia-Pacific Regions
Paper Type
[Thin/Plain/Heavy 1 - 5]
[Heavy 6]
Loaded paper
Recommended paper
Canon Océ Top Colour Paper (81.4 g/m2)
Correction paper for which a correction standard is registered
Paper registered to correct [Thin/Plain/Heavy 1 - 5]
Paper registered to correct [Heavy 6]

Press  → [Adjustment/Maintenance] → [Adjust Image Quality] → [Auto Adjust Gradation].

Press [Adjustment Level] → [By Paper Type Group] → [OK].

Press the button that corresponds to the thickness of thepaper you loaded.

Press [Select Paper to Adjust] and select the paper forcalibration you loaded or [Standard] (for the recommendedpaper).

Perform automatic gradation calibration (full calibration).

Also perform full calibration for other types of paper youloaded.
