Installing Using a WSD Port
This explains the procedure for searching for devices on a network from Windows and installing a printer using a WSD (Web Services on Devices) port.
Prerequisites
Specify a temporary port ([LPT1] etc.) and install the printer driver.
Procedures
To install from [
Settings] in the Start menu
1.
Display [Bluetooth & devices] (or [Devices]).
2.
In [Printers & scanners], click [Add a printer or scanner] > [Add device] (or [Add a printer or scanner]).
3.
Click [Add device] for the target device.
To install from [Control Panel]
1.
Display [Devices and Printers] → Click [Add a device].
2.
Select the target device → click [Next].
NOTEAfter installation using the WSD port is complete, the device added to the printer list of Windows during installation specifying the temporary port is unnecessary.
Select the device to be removed in the printer list of Windows, then select [Remove device] or click [Remove] on the management screen for the device.
