Editing Port Settings

Change the port settings in the port property dialog box.
To display the port properties, select the port from the main window and perform one of the following.
Click (Properties) on the Toolbar
Select the [File] menu > [Properties].
Double-click the port whose settings are to be changed.
Select [Properties] in the pop-up menu displayed when a port is right-clicked.
Note
A confirmation message is displayed if the port whose properties you are changing shares an IP address with another port. If you click [OK] and change the settings, all ports that share the IP address have the following settings changed.
Protocol
Transmission method of the job to the device
Timing of the notification that the print finished
[Port Name]
Displays the port name.
[IP Address or Host Name]
Displays the set device IP address or the host name.
[Device Type]
The product name of the device is displayed in [Device Type] in the [Port] tab of the OS's printer properties.
[iW Desktop Supported Device]:
This is displayed if the device status and jobs of a device can be monitored through Desktop.
[Standard MIB Device]:
This is displayed if the device is not a [iW Desktop Supported Device] but is compatible with the standard MIB, and can monitor the device status in Desktop.
[Other LPR Device]:
This is displayed if the device is not a [iW Desktop Supported Device] or [Standard MIB Device].
[Protocol]
Specify whether LPR or RAW is used for the print protocol in the configured printer. If the device selected when creating the port does not support RAW, you cannot select RAW.
[LPR Queue Name]
Specify up to 63 characters for the LPR queue name when printing with LPR. You can only use alphanumeric characters, underscore (_), and hyphen (-).
Only if [LPR] in [Protocol] is selected can this be specified.
[Port Number]
Specify the TCP port number.
You can configure the port number within the range from 1025 to 65535.
Only if [RAW] in [Protocol] is selected can this be specified.
[Job Transmission to Device]
You can change the transmission method of the job to the device.
[Transmit while Spooling]
Send the job while spooling.
[Transmit after Spooling Is Complete]
Send the job once spooling is finished.
[Notify of Print Completion]
You can change the timing for the notification that printing has finished. You cannot select [When Printing Is Complete] if a device that does not support the Job Done Notice function is selected.
[When Transmission Is Complete]
The completion notification is sent on completing the job transmission to the device.
[When Printing Is Complete]
The completion notification is sent when printing has finished.
You cannot select this if a device that does not support the Job Done Notice function is selected.
[SNMP Community Name]
Enter the name of the network system scope (i.e., community) managed by SNMP and configured for the port. Specify this when using a device supporting the standard MIB.
You can enter a maximum of 63 double-byte (127 single-byte) characters. The default setting is "public" (in lower case)
[SNMP Device Index]
Enter the SNMP device index. Specify this when using a device supporting the standard MIB.
You can specify a value from 1 through 2,147,483,647. The default setting is "1"
Note
When you enter characters used in other languages or countries/areas than specified in the OS settings, the characters may not be displayed correctly.
[SNMP Community Name] and [SNMP Device Index] are only displayed when the port uses a device supporting the standard MIB. They are not displayed for a port using a Canon product. They are only displayed in the port properties and cannot be configured when creating a port.
