If originals that have been fed through the feeder have streaks or appear dirty, clean the feeder's rollers.
Clean the rollers of the feeder with a cloth dampened with water, and wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.

Spin the rollers while cleaning them.

Clean the rollers of the feeder.

1. Pull the lever, and open the feeder cover. |
2. Clean the rollers (a total of three places) inside the feeder cover. |

Clean the rollers inside the inner cover.
 |
1. Open the inner cover, holding it by its tab. |
2. Clean the rollers (a total of three places) inside the inner cover. |
3.
Clean the transparent plastic area on top of the inner cover.

1. Clean the plastic area. |
2. Close the inner cover, and then close the feeder cover. |

When closing the covers, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

Clean the feeder scanning area.

1. Open the feeder. |
2. Clean the feeder scanning area. |
5.
Clean the resin roller and the surrounding area.
 |
1. Turn the resin roller while turning the feed dial. |
2. Clean the area while turning the resin roller. |

3. Close the feeder. |
