High Compression Image Quality Level

If you select PDF (Trace), PDF (Compact), or XPS (Compact) as the file format, you can set the image quality level of the document.

Press .
2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Common] → [Generate File].

Press [High Compression Image Quality Level].
4.
Select the items for <Image Level in Text/Photo Mode or Photo Mode> and <Image Level in Text Mode> → press [OK].
Details of each item are shown below.
[Data Size Priority]:
The data size is small, but the image quality is low.
[Normal]:
The data size and image quality are in between those of [Data Size Priority] and [Quality Priority].
[Quality Priority]:
The data size is large, but the image quality is high.
NOTE
The image quality level setting is enabled if you are using the mode selected for [Original Type] in [Copy] or [Access Stored Files]. However, if you select [PDF (Trace & Smooth)] as the file format and [Text] as the original type, this setting is invalid.
If you scan an original with many colours, the data size and image quality will vary following compression, according to the selected image level. However, if the original is in monochrome or has few colours, it does not matter which image level you select.

NOTE
This setting is disabled when sending a fax or I-fax.
