Installing NB-W2

Install NB-W2 in the expansion slot of the printer unit using the following procedure.
Before installing NB-W2, see "Attention (Printer Installation)."
NOTE
Parts and Functions of NB-W2
A Phillips screwdriver is required.
Have a screwdriver ready that matches the size of the screws.

Turn the printer OFF, then disconnect the cables or cords from the printer.
Shut down the printer before turning it OFF.
For details on the procedure for shutting down the printer, see "Turning the Printer ON/OFF."
<How to disconnect the cable or cord>
USB cable*
(2) Turn the computer OFF.
(3) Disconnect the cable from the printer.
LAN cable*
(4) Disconnect the cable from the printer.
Power cord
(5) Disconnect the power plug from the AC power outlet.
(6) Disconnect the cord from the printer.

Whether the cable is connected or not varies depending on your environment.

Remove the screws and remove the protective plate for the expansion slot.

Rotate the antenna to the position shown in the figure.

Insert NB-W2 into the expansion slot.
Hold NB-W2 by the top and bottom, and then insert NB-W2 firmly while aligning it with the guide rails inside the expansion slot.

Secure the top and bottom of NB-W2 with the two screws supplied with NB-W2.
Angle the antenna upward after securing it with the screws.
IMPORTANT
When you have difficulty communicating
Rotate the antenna in the following range.

Connect the removed cables and cords to the printer.

USB cable*
Connect to the USB connector on the printer.
Power cord
(1) Plug the power cord to the power socket on the printer.
(2) Plug the power plug into the AC power outlet.

NOTE
When the installation of NB-W2 is completed
To activate NB-W2, specify the network setting by referring to "Chapter 3 Settings for NB-W2" in User's Guide supplied with NB-W2.
