Cleaning the rubber pad in the paper cassette

Cleaning the rubber pad in the paper cassette may prevent the printer from frequently feeding multiple sheets of paper at a time.
If you have any questions on how to clean the rubber pad in the paper cassette, or if you feel uncomfortable cleaning the rubber pad in the paper cassette by yourself, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
IMPORTANT
Do not use cleaning agents or detergents.
When wiping the rubber pad in the paper cassette, use a cloth dampened with water and well wrung out. Do not use cleaning agents or detergents, including ones containing grease or oil.
Do not touch the rubber pad in the paper cassette directly with your hand.
When cleaning the rubber pad in the paper cassette, make sure not to touch it directly with your hand.

Pull out the paper cassette.
If the paper feeder is installed, pull out the paper cassette of the paper feeder also.

Clean the rubber pad in the paper cassette.
Making sure not to touch the rubber pad in the paper cassette directly with your hand, wipe the rubber pad in the paper cassette with a cloth dampened with water and well wrung out.

Set the paper cassette in the printer.
If the paper feeder is installed, insert the paper cassette of the paper feeder also.
