Restricting the Users Who Can Access

You can restrict the users who can access with MAC addresses using a Web browser (Remote UI).
You can restrict the users only if [Primary Network Setting] is set to [Standard Network]
Specify the setting for [Primary Network Setting] in the [Extension Card] page in the Remote UI or on the control panel.

Start the Remote UI, and then log in as Administrator.

Select [Information] from the [Device Manager] menu.

Click [Change] under [Permitted Receiving MAC Address].

Select the [Enable Permitted Receiving MAC Address] check box.
IMPORTANT
When the [Enable Permitted Receiving MAC Address] check box is selected
You cannot access from an unauthorized MAC address. Therefore, confirm the MAC address when entering it.
If there is no corresponding MAC address, you cannot access the network. In this case, you can access the network by initializing the network settings.

NOTE
When the [Enable Permitted Receiving MAC Address] check box is cleared
All the users can access the printer.

Set the MAC address.
(1)
Enter the MAC address of a device of which you want to permit to access.
Enter the MAC address by separating the alphanumeric characters with ":" (a colon), for example, AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF.

Click [Add].
You can set up to 50 addresses.
NOTE
When deleting a set MAC address

Select a MAC address you want to delete.

Click [Delete].

Click [OK].

Perform a hard reset or restart the printer.

After performing a hard reset or restarting the printer, the settings are effective.
NOTE
To perform a hard reset
You can perform a hard reset using the following procedure.
1.
Select [Status] from the [Device Manager] menu.
2.
Click [Device Control].
3.
Select [Hard Reset], then click [Execute].
