R-Key Setting

If your machine is connected to a PBX (Private Branch Exchange), it is necessary to set the access method. You can set the PBX type to [Prefix] or [Hooking]. If you register the outside line access number in the R-Key, you can easily access the outside line.
This mode can be set when the Fax function is available for use. For information on the optional products required to use the Fax function, see "Optional Products Required for Each Function."

Press (Settings/Registration).

Press [Function Settings] → [Send] → [Fax Settings].

Press [R-Key Setting].
4.
Specify each setting → press [OK].
[PSTN]:
Select if your machine is connected to an outside line.
[PBX]:
Select if your machine is connected through a PBX.
If you select [PBX]:
Select [Prefix] or [Hooking].
If you select [Prefix] (outside line access number), press [CODE] → enter the prefix code using - (numeric keys) → press [OK].
NOTE
Make sure to enter a pause after the prefix code. If you press [Pause] to enter a pause, <P> is displayed.
If you do not insert a pause, the prefix code is not registered.
