Logging in to SMS

The following two methods exist for logging in to SMS:

Logging in with the SMS password (Password Authentication). On the Login page for SMS, enter the SMS password to log in.

Logging in with the user name and password of the machine (Remote Login Service Authentication).
Log in with the user name and password of the machine (except for Default Authentication).
Only users registered as administrators can log in.

Use the [System Application Management] page in [System Management] to start and stop the login methods for SMS. (See "Changing the Login Method for SMS.")

NOTE
Password Authentication is set as the default. If Default Authentication is set as the login service, you cannot log in to SMS with the user name and password of the machine. The URL to specify differs according to the login service. Multiple users cannot log in to SMS at the same time. You cannot connect to the machine via a proxy server. Specify the following settings if you are working in an environment using a proxy server (as these settings differ depending on the network environment, consult the network administrator). In the proxy server settings of your web browser, add the IP address of the machine to the [Exceptions] (addresses that do not use a proxy) list. When entering characters from your web browser, use characters that can be entered from the touch panel display of the machine. Otherwise, the characters may not be displayed or recognized correctly on the touch panel display.

Password Authentication is set as the default.

If Default Authentication is set as the login service, you cannot log in to SMS with the user name and password of the machine.

The URL to specify differs according to the login service.

Multiple users cannot log in to SMS at the same time.

You cannot connect to the machine via a proxy server. Specify the following settings if you are working in an environment using a proxy server (as these settings differ depending on the network environment, consult the network administrator).

In the proxy server settings of your web browser, add the IP address of the machine to the [Exceptions] (addresses that do not use a proxy) list.
