NOTE
User Authentication includes the following two user authentication systems:
"Local Device Authentication"
"Server Authentication + Local Device Authentication"
For instructions on selecting the user authentication system for User Authentication, see "Changing the User Authentication System."
For more information on login services and user authentication methods, see "System Requirements" and "Changing the User Authentication System."
NOTE
If you are using a login service that is not affected by network settings, select [Do not restart the device even if network settings change].
If you are using a login service that can automatically respond to changes in the network settings, it is not necessary to set [Do not restart the device even if network settings change].
IMPORTANT
Changes to the login service settings are enabled after the machine is restarted. For instructions on turning On/Off the machine, see "Main Power and Energy Saver Key."
IMPORTANT
To use Department ID Management with the Local Device Authentication of User Authentication, add the Department ID and PIN registered in Department ID Management to the user information in User Authentication, and set [Department ID Management] to 'On'.
If 'Server Authentication + Local Device Authentication' of User Authentication is set, you cannot use the control card reader.
If you are using 'Server Authentication + Local Device Authentication' of User Authentication, you must match the time settings of the server with Active Directory installed and the time settings of the machine (and the computer to log in with).
