Adjusting the Secondary Transfer Voltage

You can adjust the Secondary Transfer Voltage (the voltage that transfers toner to the paper) when image blurring occurs.
IMPORTANT
This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
NOTE
Adjusting the Secondary Transfer Voltage may affect the settings in [Adjust ITB Image Clearing], [Corr. Tail End Toner Applic.], and [Adjust Image Position]. Readjust these settings, if necessary.

Press (Settings/Registration).

Press [Preferences] → [Paper Settings] → [Paper Type Management Settings].
3.
Select the paper type that you want to edit from the list → press [Details/Edit].
4.
Press [Change] for <Adj. Secondary Transfer Volt.>
5.
Press [-] or [+] for front side and back side to adjust the voltage → [OK].

Paper Weight
Light (thin paper)
Heavy (thick paper)
Poor Images
Although the density in the high density areas is normal, tiny white spots may appear in the low density areas.
Density level is low in both high and low density areas.
White spots appear in high density areas.
Uneven glossy areas may occur in the high density images.
Paper surface is rough (such as textured paper), and white spots appear on the concave side.
Outlines in high density images may blur.
Enough toner is not applied in high density areas, and tiny dense spots appear.
