System Options
By installing system related optional accessories, the user can expand the functionality of the machine. This section describes the system related optional accessories and their functions.

The imagePRESS Printer Kit enables you to use the machine as a PCL/PS printer. It supports PCL5c/PCL6 emulation solutions.
It is also necessary when printing PDF, JPEG and TIFF files stored in memory media.

To use the Job Hold function, the imagePRESS Printer Kit must be available for use. |
imagePRESS PS Printer Kit
The imagePRESS PS Printer Kit enables you to use the machine as a PS printer.
It is also necessary when printing PDF files stored in memory media.
imagePRESS PCL Printer Kit
The imagePRESS PCL Printer Kit supports PCL emulation printing solutions. It supports PCL5c/6 emulation printing solutions.
imagePRESS Server
The imagePRESS Server is a printer controller which attaches to the back of the machine. The imagePRESS Server supports Adobe Genuine PostScript 3, PCL5c, and PCL6, and is suited for office environments in which larger print volumes are frequently processed, or for users who use Adobe PostScript or other PostScript applications.

If you are using the imagePRESS Server, you cannot use the Encrypted Printing Software. If you are using the imagePRESS Server, you cannot use the Job Hold function. |
Remote Fax Kit
The Remote Fax Kit is required to use the Remote Fax function. You can send fax documents via another imageRUNNER ADVANCE machine with the fax board installed on the same network.
Barcode Printing Kit
The Barcode Printing Kit enables you to print bar codes.
Universal Send Security Feature Set
The Universal Send Security Feature Set enables you to use the Send function on the machine with security. It enables you to send documents in the following formats.
Encrypted PDF
The Encrypted PDF mode enables you to encrypt PDF files that you send to an e-mail address or file server for enhanced security. Only users who enter the correct password can open, print, or change the received PDF.
Device Signature PDF or Device Signature XPS
This is a PDF or XPS file with a unique device signature. The device signature enables the recipient of the PDF or XPS file to determine which device generated the file.
Universal Send Trace & Smooth PDF Kit
This option enables you to create a Trace & Smooth PDF, where the text and line drawings of a scanned image is converted to be scalable. The outline data (Trace) can be extracted and used in Adobe Illustrator. The smoothing process can also be applied to the text of the outline data to make it appear less jagged when viewed on a computer monitor or in print.
Universal Send Digital User Signature Kit
This option enables you to use the Send function on the machine with security. It enables you to send a PDF or XPS file with a unique digital user signature obtained from a certificate authority. This enables the recipient of a PDF or XPS file to verify which user signed it.
HDD Data Encryption & Mirroring Kit
The HDD Data Encryption & Mirroring Kit combines the HDD Mirroring function with the HDD Data Encryption function. This option enables you to reduce the risk of confidential information being leaked by encrypting all of the data stored in the hard disk of the machine.
Data Erase Kit
The Data Erase Kit enables you to erase the data stored on the hard disk of the machine.
REMOVABLE HDD KIT
The REMOVABLE HDD KIT enables you to remove the hard disk of the machine. By storing the removed hard disk in another location, you can reduce the risk of confidential information being leaked.
3.5inch/1TB HDD
The 3.5inch/1TB HDD is required to use the HDD data mirroring function with the HDD Data Encryption & Mirroring Kit.
Web Access Software
The Web Access Software enables you to view Web pages from the touch panel display of the machine. If you register PDF files on a Web page, you can print them without using a computer. Moreover, if you create a Web page or special content, and then register it as a PDF file, you can share the Web page or special content with other users.
IMPORTANT |
When using the imagePRESS Server, you can use the functions which can be performed when the Web Access Software is activated from the control panel of the machine. However, either the web browser or the [Fiery] function, which is once used, will become the only function that is available. If the machine is restarted, either the web browser or the [Fiery] function could be used again. |
Encrypted Printing Software
The Encrypted Printing Software enables you to encrypt print data sent from a computer using the Secure Print function, and decrypt it at the machine. This enables you to strengthen the security of print data by preventing the contents of your printed documents from being seen by other users, and preventing the unauthorized use of confidential information.
ACCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM KIT
The ACCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM KIT enables you to restrict the use of various functions for each user. Restricting the Send function enables you to reduce the risk of confidential information being leaked, and restricting users from making one-sided printing of multiple page documents enables printing costs to be reduced.
Voice Guidance Kit
The Voice Guidance Kit enables you to hear voice navigation instructions when operating the machine.
