Cautions When Using the Canon Universal LIPS4 Printer Driver
In order to use the printer driver in a state suitable to the printer you are using, you need to set a configuration profile that matched the printer using the [Device Settings] tab, then acquire the device status and set the option information.
You can configure the [Device Settings] tab settings all at once from [Device Settings] tab - [Config. Profile] - [Change]. You can also configure the settings for each function.
If you select functions in the printer driver that are not available for the printer you are using, it may result in unintended print results.
If you set a paper source that is not installed in the printer, paper will be supplied from the printer's priority paper source.
If the paper source you have specified and the paper size/type do not match, an error will occur.
If you specify [Finishing Settings] (2-sided printing, stapling, etc.) functions for a printer that does have those functions, printing will be performed without those functions.
(Example: If you specify 2-sided printing for a printer that does not support 2-sided printing, the document will print on one side of the paper.)
If you select [Output Method] - [Store] when printing from a printer that does not support mail box storage, the document will be printed normally. If an error is displayed on the touch panel display of the printer and the printer goes offline, the document is printed when the printer goes online again.
If you set department ID management or user authentication when printing for a printer that does not have the department ID management function or user authentication function, an error will occur.
If you specify color printing for a black and white printer, the document will be output in black and white, but the print quality may deteriorate and printing may take some time.
If functions that are not supported by this printer driver are set on the control panel of the printer you are using, the printer settings are enabled when printing. For example, if the function for inserting a sheet of paper between transparencies is enabled at the printer, a sheet of paper is inserted between each two transparencies when printing, and if the copy set numbering function has been enabled at the printer, the document will be printed with copy set numbering.
Depending on the combination of the device and options you are using, you may not be able to identify the attached options in [Device Settings] tab - [

] (Retrieve Device Status Information). To use the options that cannot be identified, configure the settings manually in the [Device Settings] tab.
