License Authentication Procedure

The authentication procedure for a floating license is performed using a local license server. Licenses are registered to the local license server after performing authentication with a floating license. The procedure differs depending on whether the computer you are using is connected to the Internet. Check the license authentication procedure for the system you are using.

Performing License Authentication by Connecting to the Internet

1.
Start Floating License Information Manager.
2.
Select Acquire.
3.
Select Online Authentication.
4.
Enter the License Access Number.
5.
Enter the number of licenses to register.
6.
Check the License Agreement.
7.
Register the user information.
8.
License authentication is complete.

Online Authentication

Performing License Authentication without Connecting to the Internet

1.
Start Floating License Information Manager.
2.
Select Acquire.
3.
Select Offline Authentication > Create User Information.
4.
Enter the License Access Number.
5.
Enter the number of licenses to register.
6.
Check the License Agreement.
7.
Register the user information.
8.
Create a User Information File.
9.
Send the User Information File to your Canon dealer.
10.
Retrieve a license information file from your Canon dealer.
11.
Start Floating License Information Manager.
12.
Select Acquire.
13.
Select Offline Authentication > Read License Information/Create Request Data.
14.
Read the license information file.
15.
Create a Request Data File.
16.
Send the Request Data File to your Canon dealer.
17.
Retrieve a Response file from your Canon dealer.
18.
Start FlexNet Device Manager.
19.
Read the Response file.
20.
License authentication is complete.
