Points to Note Regarding Licenses

This section describes the license files of Desktop.

When a License File Is Damaged

If the license authentication information is damaged, Desktop cannot be started because the license cannot be confirmed. If the license authentication information is damaged, use the cleanup tool to delete the license authentication information.
NOTE
If you were using a node lock license or trial license, or the authentication information of the local license server is damaged, it is necessary to perform authentication again after deleting the license authentication information.
When the License Authentication Information of the Computer Using Desktop Is Damaged
Desktop cannot be started. Use the cleanup tool to repair the license.
1.
Start Windows and log onto the system as a user with Administrator privileges.
2.
Execute the "iWDT.License.CleanupLicense.exe" file in the folder where Desktop is installed.
NOTE
The default folder is "C:\Program Files\Canon\iW360\iW DT".
The "Start-LicenseCleanupTool.vbs" file can also be started from the Desktop Installation Media. In this case, execute the "Start-LicenseCleanupTool.vbs" file in the "32bit" or "64bit" > "LicenseTools" > "<language name>" folder.
The license authentication information is deleted. Perform license authentication again, as necessary.
When the License Authentication Information of a Local License Server Is Damaged
Desktop cannot be used on the client computer. Use the cleanup command to repair the license.
1.
Start Windows and log onto the system as a user with Administrator privileges.
2.
Stop the iW Desktop Floating License Service, which is a Windows service.
3.
Start the command prompt.
4.
Execute the "shutdown.bat" file in the "Flexnet Device Manager" > "bin" folder you copied to a local folder of your choice.
5.
Enter "%ProgramFiles%\Canon\iW Desktop Floating License Service\lancher.exe reset" in the command prompt and execute.
6.
Confirm that the license information of the local license server is deleted, and perform license authentication again.
NOTE
Restart iW Desktop Floating License Service and the computer as necessary.
If license authentication cannot be performed correctly with the above procedure, delete all the files in the following folder and try again.

When You Uninstall Desktop Without Returning the Node Lock License

If you uninstall Desktop, the License Information Management application is also uninstalled. To return the license after uninstallation, use the Desktop Installation Media.
When the Node Lock License Is Undamaged
1.
Start Windows and log onto the system as a user with Administrator privileges.
2.
Execute the "Start-LicenseInformationManagement.vbs" file in the "Desktop Installation Media" > "32bit" or "64bit" > "LicenseTools" > "<language>" folder.
The License Information Management application is started.
3.
Click [Return] for the license.
When the Node Lock License Is Damaged
If the license cannot be returned even after you execute the License Information Management application from the Desktop Installation Media, the license file is damaged. Use the cleanup tool to delete the license authentication information, reinstall Desktop, perform license authentication, and return the license.
