Changing Device Settings

Change the device settings in the device properties dialog box.
The device properties dialog box is displayed by performing one of the following operations after selecting the device to change the settings of in [Printer Name] in the [Printer List - Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop - Monitor Setup] dialog box.
Select the [File] menu > [Properties]
Double-click a printer whose settings are to be changed
Right-click the printer whose settings are to be changed, and select [Properties]
[Printer Name]
Displays the device name. Cannot be changed.
[Port Name]
Displays the port name. Cannot be changed.
[IP Address or Host Name]
Displays the IP address or host name. If you click [Change], [Select the Setting Method] in the [IP Address Settings] dialog box is displayed. For more information on [Select the Setting Method], see the following.
[Device Type]
Displays the device type. If you click [Change], the [Select Device Type] dialog box is displayed. For more information on the [Select Device Type] dialog box, see the following.
[Driver Name]
Displays the printer driver name to use. Cannot be changed.
[Timing of Print Complete Notification]
You can change the timing for the notification that printing has finished. Cannot be set when [Device Type] is [Other LPR Device] or left blank.
[When transmission is complete]
The completion notification is sent on completing the job transmission to the device.
[When printing is complete]
The completion notification is sent when printing has finished.
Cannot be selected for [Standard MIB Device].
[SNMP Community Name]
Enter the name of the network system scope (i.e., community) managed by SNMP. Specify this when using a device supporting the standard MIB.
[SNMP Device Index]
Enter the SNMP device index. Specify this when using a device supporting the standard MIB.
[OK]
When a setting is changed, a message confirming the setting change is displayed.
NOTE
Change [Printer Name] and [Port Name] on the printer properties screen of Windows.
If you change [IP Address or Host Name], the information managed by Desktop Monitor Setup is changed. However, the changes are not reflected in Windows, and the actual IP address and host name are not changed.
When updating device information, if there are devices using the same port, the device information of each device using the port is also updated. To separate device information with the same IP address, assign different ports to the devices.
You can enter a maximum of 127 single-byte characters for [SNMP Community Name]. The name is case-sensitive.
You can specify a value from 1 through 2,147,483,647 for [SNMP Device Index].
When you enter characters used in other languages or countries/areas than specified in the Windows settings, the characters may not be displayed correctly.
