In order to display the status of the printer set as the monitoring target, you need to configure the view settings. For more information on these settings, see the following.
The monitoring period of the device status is 3 minutes. Device monitoring in Printer Monitor starts in the following cases.
When Printer Monitor is started
When (Main) is clicked on the Taskbar
When printing is performed on the device set as the monitoring target
When the monitoring setting for the device set as the monitoring target has been changed from off to on
When a device set as the monitoring target is changed
When the printer name or port of the device set as the monitoring target is changed
Monitoring can also be performed in a printer output button of Desktop Browser. For more information, see the following.
Monitoring can also be performed in the Quick Printing Tool. For more information, see the following.
The default settings of Windows 7/Windows 8.1/Windows 10 restrict icons displayed on the Taskbar notification area. See the following to display the icons displayed by Printer Monitor on the Taskbar notification area.

(Ready)
|
This is displayed when the device is ready for printing and is running correctly.

(Error)
|
This is displayed when an error occurs in the device, for example when it is impossible to continue printing due to a paper jam, no toner or out of paper, or when the status of the device cannot be confirmed due to a network connection failure or power failure.

(Warning)
|
This is displayed when the device is getting ready for printing, when the remaining toner level is low, or when a warning situation occurs in the device. For example, when there are paper sources that contain no paper.

(Getting Status)
|
This is displayed when the status of the device is being retrieved.
|
(Monitoring Not Possible)
|
This is displayed when the monitored device is a fax machine or a device that cannot be monitored.
|
(Not Monitored)
|
This is displayed when the device is not monitored.
|
(Offline)
|
This is displayed when the device is offline.

When multiple statuses have been obtained, they are displayed in the following order of priority.
Error > Offline > Warning > Printable
If a device cannot be monitored because it has been deleted by another user, etc., restart Printer Monitor or set [Select Printer to Monitor Status of] again. For information on the settings of [Select Printer to Monitor Status of], see the following.
