Glossary of Desktop Terms
1-sided Printing
1-sided printing is a method for printing documents on one side of the paper in Desktop Editor. When 2-sided printing is configured for the entire document, you can configure 1-sided printing for specific chapters.
2-sided Printing
2-sided printing is a method for printing documents on both sides of the paper in Desktop Editor. When 2-sided printing is configured for the entire document, you can configure 1-sided printing for specific chapters. 2-sided printing cannot be set when a destination printer that does not support it is specified or a paper size that does not support it is selected.
Add-in
An extended function added to software. Desktop provides Desktop Office Toolbar as an add-in for Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2013/2016 applications.
Alignment
A function for aligning objects, which is used when aligning objects/fields in Desktop Editor. You can change the alignment by selecting an object/field, clicking [Align] on the ribbon, and selecting the alignment from the displayed list ([Left], [Center], [Right], [Top], [Middle], or [Bottom]).
Annotations
Using Desktop Editor, objects such as text and shapes can be added to documents. Annotations are the general term for this extra information. Annotations are saved as separate data from the document pages. The types of annotations you can add are as follows.
Objects: text, text boxes, comments, lines, rectangles, ovals, polygons, polygon lines, free lines, markers, masks (rectangles), masks (ovals), images
Stamp: text stamps, date stamps, image stamps, date marks
Text Annotation: text highlights, underlines, strikethroughs, text notes
Area in Which Editing Cannot Be Performed
The area at the top/bottom of a document set in the Specify Area Not to Edit Mode of Desktop Editor so that it cannot be edited. When reducing margins, you can set whether to delete the specified area before reducing the margins. If this area is not set, margins are reduced in all the areas containing objects.
Back Cover
The back cover of documents can be set on the [Print Settings] tab in the Details Window of Desktop Editor. Setting a back cover enables you to insert paper from the specified paper source to use for the back cover as the last page of a document when printing. A back cover cannot be set when [Booklet Printing] is selected in [Print Style].
Booklet Printing
A function for printing two pages of a document on the paper selected as the output paper, so a booklet can be created. You can set the binding type and orientation of the booklet according to the printer you are using.
Canon Desktop Document Writer
A printer driver for creating IWB documents from an external application. By printing a document in an external application and specifying Canon Desktop Document Writer as the output destination, the document is converted to a new IWB document and displayed in Desktop Editor. If Desktop Editor is already running, the printed document can be added to the end of the IWB document that is displayed or selected.
Caret
A horizontal or vertical line to show the insertion position.
Checkout Folder
A temporary folder for saving the copy of a document that is checked out.
Check In
Checking in is a function for enabling other users to use a document that has been checked out again. Checking in can be performed manually or automatically when a document is saved or closed. Since the copy saved in the check out folder is updated when a document is updated, the updated document is saved in the Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library. The updated versions of documents in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library set with [Create Version] in Document Server or SharePoint Server are managed as new versions, and stored along with the previous versions.
Check Out
Checking out is a function for making sure other users cannot edit a document in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library. Checking out can be performed manually or automatically for documents in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library set with [Require Check Out]. When a document is opened, a copy of the check out document is created in the check out folder, and that copy is used to edit the document. It is necessary to check in to enable other users to use the document that was checked out.
Collapsing
An operation for hiding the items such as pages (pages in expanded chapters) and signatures that have been expanded on the [Page Tree] tab or the [Signature List] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor, to display only chapter or signature items. You can expand or collapse items by clicking the icon in front of them, as with Windows Explorer, etc.
Color Mode
The color mode is one of the print settings for documents. You can select the color mode to use for printing documents from the [Color Mode] pull-down list. The pull-down list automatically displays the color modes available with the specified destination printer. You can set a different color mode from the entire document for pages and chapters selected on the [Page Tree] tab.
Cover Sheet
A cover that can be attached when sending faxes. In Desktop, you can set the sender, whether to display the destination, and other content to display on the cover in the [Cover Sheet Settings] dialog box.
Desktop Browser
Desktop Browser is a central application for document management implemented by Desktop. Desktop Browser manages documents imported from local computers, network drives or external devices such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices by using libraries. It can also monitor folders in libraries, My Tray, and external devices such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, enabling you to check the status of added and updated documents and the status of external devices on the Desktop Browser screen.
Desktop Communicator
An application for sending fax address information from devices. To reference the fax address book of imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices in Desktop, this application must be installed on MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) in the device.
Desktop Editor
Desktop Editor enables you to add print settings to documents, and perform actions such as adjusting and editing documents. You can also bind documents, sort them, and delete unnecessary pages. By saving a document in the IWB document (*.iwb), you can save print settings with the document.
Desktop Office Toolbar
An add-in provided by Desktop for linking with Microsoft Office. Displayed on the ribbon of Microsoft Office 2007/2010/2013/2016 applications, and used for opening library documents, saving documents to libraries, and converting documents to IWB documents.
Digital Certificate
A digital certificate is data for certifying that the public key for analyzing a digital signature is valid. Since a digital certificate is issued by a certificate authority (CA), the user with the digital certificate can be certified via the certificate authority. The digital stamps used with Desktop Editor can also attach a digital certificate.
Digital Stamps
Digital stamps are used to authorize documents using Desktop Editor. The signature of digital stamps can also be verified. The signature verification function can detect whether the original pages before pasting have been edited or modified, etc.
Document Monitor
This module displays the notifications for new and updated documents in the monitoring target folders, or notifications for new documents in My Tray on the Taskbar, and transfers documents.
Document Server
Document Server is a web-based document management server that runs on Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. By installing Desktop on a computer residing in the network of a document management system that is built centrally upon Document Server, you can use Document Server Libraries managed by Document Server in Desktop and perform document operations such as registering, editing and searching in the Document Server Libraries.
Document Server Library
A library registered in Document Server by connecting from Desktop. A Document Server Library can be used by multiple users by accessing with a user name and password. Document user control and version management can be performed on the data stored in a Document Server Library by checking out and checking in the data.
Document Version
When a document in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library with [Create Version] set in Document Server or SharePoint Server is updated, both the document before updating and the document after updating are stored and managed as separate versions. You can also save the selected version of the document as the latest version in the [Document Version List] dialog box.
Editable Fonts
Editable fonts refer to the fonts installed in your computer. When fonts not installed in your computer are embedded in a document, a confirmation message is displayed, and you can select whether to replace them with an editable font. If you replace them, you can edit the text.
Edit Original Pages Mode
The Edit Original Pages Mode is a mode for editing the objects of original data in Desktop Editor. The Edit Original Pages Mode enables you to perform fine adjustment before printing, such as adding text objects and correcting existing text. You can also group/ungroup, move, and delete the objects such as text and images in a document.
Expanding
The operation for displaying pages hidden (pages included in collapsed chapters) on the [Page Tree] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor. You can expand or collapse items by clicking the icon in front of them, as with Windows Explorer, etc.
Exporting
Saving documents saved in libraries or My Tray to Windows Folder using the [File] menu > [Export], dragging and dropping, or copying and pasting is called "exporting".
Saving the original documents stored in IWB documents opened in Desktop Editor to libraries or Windows Folder is called "exporting original documents".
Saving the IWB documents opened in Desktop Editor to libraries or Windows Folder in the PDF format is called "exporting in the PDF format".
Saving the selected versions of documents in the [Document Version List] dialog box to Windows Folder is called "version exporting".
Saving settings customized in Desktop as a file for use in another Desktop is called "exporting". The following settings can be exported separately.

File List View Window
Displays the libraries, folders, and documents in the library or folder selected in the Navigation Window. The folders and documents can be displayed as three types of thumbnails (large, medium, and small), or in a list.
Front Cover
The front cover of documents can be set in the [Print Settings] tab of Desktop Editor. Setting a front cover enables you to insert paper from the specified paper source to use for the front cover as the first page of a document when printing.
Grouping/Ungrouping
Grouping is a function for grouping together annotations and objects such as text and images in documents in Desktop Editor so they can be handled as a single annotation or object. Ungrouping is a function for canceling grouping to restore the separate annotations and objects.
Headers/Footers
When the [Insert Header/Footer into Print Pages] or [Insert Header/Footer into Original Pages] check box is selected on the [Page Settings] tab in the Details Window of Desktop Editor, you can set a header/footer for print pages and original pages separately. You can set page numbers, dates, chapter names, document names, images, and text as the header/footer in the top and bottom margins of documents. The header/footer is also output when exporting an IWB document as a PDF document. You can also cancel the header/footer settings for specific chapters in [Chapter Settings].
Hole Punch
Hole punch is one of the print settings. You can select the hole punch process to use for finishing documents from the [Hole punch] pull-down list. The pull-down list automatically displays the hole punch processes available with the specified destination printer. The [Output Size] and [Staple] settings may change according to the hole punch process you select. Since the hole punch process is set for the entire document, you cannot set a separate hole punch process for pages and chapters.
Hot Folders
A folder set to be periodically monitored and forward new documents and image data to a folder in a library, etc. The source folder for scanned data set when registering a Personal Button and the source folder for the My Tray set when circulating documents are both Hot Folders.
Import
The process of copying documents saved in a location other than a library of Desktop to a library of Desktop for management is called "importing" or "registering". There are various methods for importing documents, including importing from the [File] menu, importing by dragging and dropping, automatically importing scanned data with Personal Button settings, and importing with Desktop Office Toolbar.
Adding documents to an IWB document with Desktop Editor is also called "importing" or "registering". Imported documents are added to the IWB document as new chapters. Also, imported documents are displayed as original documents on the [Original Documents] tab in the Navigation Window. Both documents in Windows Folder and documents in a library can be imported to IWB documents.
Using settings customized in Desktop in another Desktop is called "importing". The following settings can be imported separately.

Extra information used to categorize documents that can be set for each library.
imageWARE Documents
imageWARE documents (*.iwd) are documents created in Publishing Manager. Desktop Editor can import imageWARE documents created in Publishing Manager Version 3.0 or later.
IWB Documents
An IWB document combines documents created in various applications as a single document. IWB documents can be created using Desktop Editor. All the documents that can be printed from your computer can be imported to an IWB document. IWB documents you create can also be exported as PDF documents and have annotations added.
Layout Settings
The print settings specified with Desktop Editor include templates, print settings, and page settings. Layout settings are part of the print settings. They include the output paper size, output paper orientation, page layout, original size enlargement/reduction, and chapter separation settings. Since the layout settings are saved in IWB documents, the same settings can be used the next time that an IWB document is opened. When specifying layout settings, whether there is a setting that cannot be used with the destination printer is automatically detected.
Libraries
A location for storing the folders and documents saved in Desktop. Libraries include Personal Libraries that use a folder on a local computer, Document Server Libraries that use a folder in Document Server, SharePoint Server Libraries that use a folder in SharePoint Server, and Network Libraries that use a shared folder on a network drive.
Mail Merge Data
The data that is replaced when printing with the Mail Merge Print Settings Mode of Desktop Editor.
Mail Merge Fields
The areas for performing Mail Merge printing with the Mail Merge Print Settings Mode of Desktop Editor. Mail Merge fields include text fields for replacing text and image fields for replacing images.
Mail Merge Printing
A function for printing a document after replacing text and images on an original page with those in a database.
Marker
A type of annotation that can be added with Desktop Editor. Markers are filled rectangles without a border. The fill color and transparency can be changed, but a border cannot be added.
Mask
A type of annotation that can be added with Desktop Editor. Masks are filled rectangles or ovals without a border. The fill color can be changed, but a border cannot be added.
My Tray
The folder to store circulated documents transferred to Desktop when circulating documents. Only one is displayed on the Navigation Window.
Navigation Window
In Desktop Browser and Desktop Editor, the area for selecting the target library/folder, search condition (Desktop Browser), chapter/page, original document, page, or signature (Desktop Editor). The Navigation Window can be displayed and hidden. The Navigation Window can also be displayed with a tree view, list view, or thumbnail view.
New Document
A new document is a document added to My Tray or a folder that is monitored. When there is a new or updated document in a monitored folder or a new document in My Tray, the user is notified with the new document notification icon on the Taskbar, the new document notification window, or a sound. In addition, the new documents in the monitored folders are highlighted. The [Log List] dialog box displays a list of the new documents. The [Log List] dialog box can be displayed from Document Monitor.
Original Documents
The original documents used when performing conversion, etc. in Desktop are called "original documents". The data of IWB documents includes information for the IWB document itself and the information for these original documents. The original documents included in IWB documents are listed on the [Original Documents] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor. Original documents selected on the [Original Documents] tab can be exported or deleted from the IWB document.
Original Page
Original pages are pages for editing in Desktop Editor.
Order
The order of objects and annotations inserted with Desktop Editor is determined by the order that they were inserted. The order can be changed using the list ([Bring to Front], [Send to Back], [Bring Forward], or [Send Backward]) displayed by clicking [Order] on the ribbon after selecting an object or annotation.
Output Bar
The area where output buttons are registered.
Output Buttons
A button registered in the output bar. The [Print Settings] output button and [E-Mail] output button are output buttons registered during installation. A printer output button, fax output button, application output button, document destination folder output button, and destination tray output button can be registered as necessary. Output buttons can be used to print, fax, or edit documents with a single operation.
Output Paper Orientation
The output paper orientation is one of the print settings for documents. You can select [Portrait] or [Landscape] as the output paper orientation to use for printing documents. The [Page Layout] setting may change according to the orientation you select. You can set a different output paper orientation from the entire document for chapters selected on the [Page Tree] tab in the Navigation Window. The output paper orientation cannot be set when [Auto (Size)] is set for [Output Size].
Output Size
The output size is one of the print settings for documents. You can select the output size to use for printing documents from the [Output Size] pull-down list. The pull-down list automatically displays the output sizes available with the specified destination printer. You can set different output sizes from the entire document for chapters selected on the [Page Tree] tab. You can also set specific combinations of different paper sizes.
Page Layout
Page layout is one of the print settings for documents. You can select how many original pages to print on a single sheet of paper when printing documents, and the layout order. The number in the items you can select indicates the number of original pages to print on a single sheet of paper, and the arrow indicates the layout order of the original pages. The page layouts that can be set may differ according to the [Output Paper Orientation] setting. You can set a different page layout from the entire document for chapters selected on the [Page Tree] tab in the Navigation Window.
Page Tree
The list of pages in documents displayed on the [Page Tree] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor. Select the chapter/page to perform operations on. You can select the document icon to select the entire document. You can also expand and collapse chapters.
Password for Opening a Document
The password required to open a PDF document. An input dialog is displayed when opening a PDF document with a password set or converting to an IWB document in Desktop Editor. In this case, enter the password and click [OK]. You can also set a password for opening the document when exporting an IWB document as a PDF document.
PDF/A
A PDF document format standardized by ISO (the International Organization for Standardization). PDF/A defines specifications for creating, viewing, and printing digital documents for long-term storage. Therefore, if you edit a PDF document in the PDF/A format, the document will no longer conform to the PDF/A format.
Documents can be converted to the PDF/A-1b format in Desktop.
Permissions Password for Canceling Restrictions
The password required to cancel restrictions when the printing, editing, and copying of a PDF document is restricted. When creating documents using Desktop Editor, an input dialog is displayed when a permissions password is set for the PDF document. In this case, enter the password and click [OK]. You can also set a permissions password when exporting documents in libraries and IWB documents as PDF documents.
Personal Button
A button on the Quick Menu of a device, which is registered with settings for sending scanned data. Personal Buttons are set in the [File] menu of the Desktop Browser screen > [Tools] > [Personal Button Settings].
Personal Libraries
A library used for managing personal documents. Can be set on your computer or a network drive.
Preview Window
The area for displaying a preview of the document selected in the File List View Window. The Preview Window can be displayed and hidden. It enables previews to be displayed for IWB documents, PDF documents, XPS documents, image documents (*.jpg/*.jpeg, *.bmp, and *.tif/*.tiff) and Office documents. You can also perform the following operations on the PDF document displayed in the Preview Window.
Exporting pages
Dividing pages
Extracting, duplicating, or deleting pages
Rotating or rearranging pages
Printing or sending pages as faxes or an e-mail attachment
Printer Monitor
A module that displays the status of external devices such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, the status of printing, and the status of sending and receiving faxes in the Taskbar and the output bar of the Desktop Browser screen.
Print Settings
The print settings specified with Desktop Editor include templates, print settings, and page settings. Each of these are displayed on the Details Window. The [Print Settings] tab includes layout settings, print settings, and paper source settings. The [Page Settings] tab includes header/footer settings and watermark settings. Since the print settings are saved in IWB documents, the same settings can be used the next time that an IWB document is opened. When specifying print settings, whether there is a setting that cannot be used with the destination printer is automatically detected.
Print Style
The print style is one of the print settings. It enables you to set whether to perform 1-sided printing, 2-sided printing, or booklet printing for documents. When 2-sided printing is set for the entire document, you can set to perform 1-sided printing for specific chapters.
Print Log
The log of processed print jobs monitored by Printer Monitor that is displayed in the [Log List] dialog box. The [Log List] dialog box can be displayed from Printer Monitor or the Quick Printing Tool.
Printed Page
Printed pages are pages set for printing in Desktop Editor.
Printer Information
Printer information is the information on each printer retrieved by the printer driver installed in the computer used by Desktop Editor. When opening documents in Desktop Editor, the list of available printers is automatically updated. When specifying print settings for documents, whether there is a setting that cannot be used with the specified destination printer is automatically detected.
Properties Window
Displays the properties of libraries, folders, and documents. The Properties Window can be displayed and hidden. Some properties can also be edited.
Quick Menu
A menu that enables you to register Personal Buttons, which is operated from the touch panel display of Canon devices.
Quick Printing Tool
The Quick Printing Tool is an application that provides more intuitive operations of device functions such as printing and sending faxes. It also monitors the status of external devices such as imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices and the status of the printing process, and manages logs of printing, sending and receiving faxes, in the same way as Printer Monitor.
Read-Only
A mode for opening documents that cannot be overwritten in Desktop Editor, such as documents checked out by another user or documents set with the read-only attribute. When this read-only mode is used, "[Read-only]" is displayed on the title bar.
Received Fax Log
The log of received faxes monitored by Printer Monitor that is displayed in the [Log List] dialog box. The [Log List] dialog box can be displayed from Printer Monitor or the Quick Printing Tool.
Redaction
Redactions enable you to completely erase displayed text and images from a document. You can place a redaction mark that is displayed as a colored rectangle in place of the deleted item, or you can delete that redaction mark to make the area blank.
Search Conditions
Search conditions, such as properties, search methods, and keywords/values, that can be combined and set when performing a detailed search on the Search Screen displayed from Desktop Browser. Search conditions can be saved. A list of saved search conditions is displayed on the [Search Conditions] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Browser. Double-clicking a saved search condition on the [Search Conditions] tab enables you to perform a search with those conditions specified.
Search Screen
You can specify a search condition to search from the Search Screen. Searches from the Search Screen search the property information of folders and documents. You can also enter search keywords to search for as with the simple search bar.
Sent Fax Log
The log of sent faxes monitored by Printer Monitor that is displayed in the [Log List] dialog box. The [Log List] dialog box can be displayed from Printer Monitor or the Quick Printing Tool.
SharePoint Server
It is an integrated server application product from Microsoft. It is configured on the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services platform, and offers consistent operation environment by closely integrating with Microsoft Office series. By installing Desktop on the computer residing in the network of the document management system that is built centrally upon SharePoint Server, you can use SharePoint Server site or library managed by SharePoint Server in Desktop and perform document operations such as registering, editing and searching in SharePoint Server Library.
SharePoint Server Library
It is the library already registered on the SharePoint Server used by connected with Desktop. SharePoint Server Library can be accessed by multiple users with their user name and password. In addition, you can control the users of documents by checking out and checking in, and manage the version information of the data stored in SharePoint Server Library.
SharePoint Server Site
It is the site already registered on the SharePoint Server used by connected with Desktop. Site is the unit to create and manage sub-sites or libraries in the lower hierarchy. When registering a site on Desktop, you can register sub-sites and libraries in the site at a time.
Sheet
In the [Print Settings] tab of Desktop Editor, you can set sheets to insert to the start of chapters in IWB documents. When both sheets for insertion and tab paper are set, you can set the order for inserting them. When [Booklet Printing] is selected in [Print Style], you cannot set sheets for insertion.
Shortcut
The [Create Shortcut] function of Desktop can be used to create a Desktop shortcut (*.iwl/*.iwlf) for documents and folders in a library. Shortcuts (*.iwl/*.iwlf) you create can be attached to e-mail and sent from Desktop by starting an e-mail application. In addition, if shortcuts (*.iwl/*.iwlf) are exported to a Windows Folder, the folders and documents stored in a library or folder can be displayed by double-clicking the shortcuts (*.iwl/*.iwlf), even if Desktop is not running.
Shortcuts used in Windows are icons set to access folders or documents. They are used to open folders and documents without directly accessing them. When a shortcut icon for Desktop Editor is created on the desktop, etc., you can drag and drop the icons of documents saved in locations other than libraries to the shortcut icon to create new IWB documents.
Signature List
A list of digital signatures attached to the entire document displayed on the [Signature List] tab on the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor. The detailed information of each signature can be expanded and collapsed.
Simple Search
You can enter a search keyword in the Simple Search Bar to perform a full-text search or folder/document properties information search.
Stamps
Stamps are a type of annotation that can be added with Desktop Editor. There are four types of stamps: text stamps, date stamps, image stamps, and date marks. You can register a standard string in a text stamp, or a frequently used image in an image stamp. The "Short Date" and "Long Date" set as the date data format in [Region and language] in the control panel are used for the date mark.
Staple
Staple is one of the print settings. Set it to staple the finished document when printing a document. The red lines on the items you can select indicate the number and position of the staples. You can cancel stapling for specific chapters. You cannot set stapling if the specified destination printer does not support it or [Booklet Printing] is selected in [Print Style].
Tab Paper
On the [Print Settings] tab in the Details Window of Desktop Editor, you can set tab paper to insert at the start of chapters in IWB documents. You can print the name of the chapter on the tab part of the tab paper. Tab paper cannot be set when [Booklet Printing] is set in [Print Style].
Thumbnails
Thumbnails are small images used for displaying lists, etc. A list of thumbnail images for original pages is displayed on the [Thumbnails] tab in the Navigation Window of Desktop Editor. The File List View Window of Desktop Browser can also display thumbnails (large, medium, or small).
Valid Print Area
The area on the paper that a printer can print on. The valid print area differs according to your printer.
Version Comment
A text comment related to the updated version that can be entered in the [Enter Version Comments] dialog box when checking in a document in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library when [Create Version] is set in Document Server or SharePoint Server. The version comment you enter can be checked in the [Comments] column of the [Document Version List] dialog box.
Version Exporting
Saving the selected versions of documents selected in the [Document Version List] dialog box to Windows Folder is called "version exporting". You can also save previous versions of documents saved in a Document Server Library or SharePoint Server Library.
Verify
Verification is a function for checking for modification of certificates and documents, etc. in Desktop Editor using a digital stamp attached to documents.
Watermarks
Text or an image displayed in front of or behind a document. For example, you can apply a watermark saying "Confidential" to pages with confidential information. You can add multiple watermarks, but each watermark must be added individually.
Work Window
The Work Window is the area where previews are displayed in Desktop Editor. The Work Window is the main area where pages and objects are selected, added, and deleted, etc.
Zoom
The zoom function of Desktop is a function for changing the preview magnification factor in Desktop Editor. You can set a magnification factor of 5 to 200%. You can also display previews with a specified magnification factor.
Glossary of Device Terms
ADF
Auto Document Feeder. A device for automatically feeding the documents to copy and scan.
EMF

SMB
SMB (Server Message Block) is a communication technology for sharing files and printers on a network that was jointly developed by IBM, Intel, and Microsoft. Transmission using SMB is called "SMB transmission". File transfers between imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices and Desktop use SMB technology.
SMS
SMS (Service Management Service) is a MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) system service. You can use SMS to install applications to MEAP via a browser. SMS can also be used to start, stop, and uninstall installed applications.
Glossary of Other Terms
IP Address
An Internet Protocol address. An identification number assigned to identify devices such as computers, printers, or faxes on the internet or an intranet.
PDF Package
A PDF document as a package into which PDF documents and non-PDF documents are converted and integrated using an application such as Adobe Acrobat.
PDF Portfolio
A unit into which PDF documents and non-PDF documents are bundled using Adobe Acrobat or another application. Each of the documents within the unit is maintained as an individual document.
PDF with Security Policies
A PDF document created using security policies with an application such as Adobe Acrobat.
Subaddress
A subaddress that conforms with the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector) standard. Used to indicate a specific location such as a fax memory box. By using Subaddress to send faxes, you can use various functions that support Subaddress communication.
Windows Folder
A Windows Folder is a regular folder in Windows that can be displayed in Windows Explorer, etc. In Desktop, regular folders are called Windows Folders to distinguish them from My Tray, libraries, and folders in libraries.
Windows Search
A Windows component that enables full text searches of documents saved on a computer.
