Installing with Desktop User Settings Loaded

You can prepare a user settings file (*.iwdtst, *.iwdtsa) for Desktop and incorporate it in the installer to install Desktop with the same settings. Multiple separate user settings files (*.iwdtsa) can be imported, even if they are of the same type.

By using a Desktop installer with an incorporated user settings file, and performing a distributed installation with SMS/SCCM, you can install Desktop with the same environment on multiple computers on a network.

Installing from SMS/SCCM

Copy the installer from "Desktop Installation Media".

Delete the initial underscore (_) and rename the following folders that comprise the installer as indicated below.

Select either the "32bit" folder or "64bit" folder according to the operating system environment to install to.

Before change	(Folder that the installer was copied to)\32bit or 64bit\_etc_iWDTSettings
After change	(Folder that the installer was copied to)\32bit or 64bit\etc_iWDTSettings

NOTE
If a folder name contains an initial underscore (_) the content of that folder is ignored during installation.

Store the user settings file to import in the "etc_iWDTSettings" > "pd" > "a1" folder.

etc_iWDTSettings\pd\a1\(user settings file)

NOTE
A dummy file that cannot be used is stored in the "a1" folder. Delete the dummy file before storing the user settings file.

Open the "iWDTSettings.fl" file in the "etc_iWDTSettings" folder using Notepad, etc.

Edit the user settings file to import as indicated below.

IMPORTANT
Operations are not guaranteed if two user settings files (*.iwdtst) are imported.

NOTE

When importing separate user settings files (*.iwdtsa), be wary of the following.

Monitored Folders	If a monitored folder does not exist in the target environment, it can no longer be monitored. Import the monitored library at the same time.
Output Bars	If a Document Destination Folder does not exist in the target environment, documents can no longer be sent. Import the destination library at the same time. If a print template used in a [Printer] output button does not exist in the target environment, an error occurs during printing. Import the print template at the same time.
Ribbons/Toolbars	If output buttons were set, the separate user settings file (*.iwdtsa) for the ribbon and toolbar also includes the output buttons. For notes on output buttons, see the description for the output bar.

When importing a separate user settings file (*.iwdtsa) for the output bar, the output bar registered to Desktop after installation may differ, depending on the situation.

When importing after a new installation

Only the output bar set to be exported is registered during the output process.

If user settings exist in the target computer when upgrading, etc.

An output bar not currently registered in Desktop is added.

When importing together with a user settings file (*.iwdtst)

The existing output bar is overwritten with the output bar included in the user settings file (*.iwdtst) and separate user settings file (*.iwdtsa).

If you selected [Select during installation] while exporting the user settings file (*.iwdtst), the [Select User Settings] is displayed the first time that Desktop is started after installing with the above method. Select any of the following options, and click [OK].

[Use the older version user settings]	Imports the settings from the user settings file, but when upgrading, priority is given to the settings of the older version.
[Use the new user settings]	Imports the settings from the user settings file. When upgrading, priority is given to the settings in the user settings file.

Decreasing the Number of Languages in the Installer (When There Is a Function for Adding Display Languages)

You can delete language resources included in the installer to limit the languages that can be selected during installation to only the languages that are required.

Delete unnecessary language resource folders in the following location.

(Folder that the installer was copied to)\32bit or 64bit\Resource\Language

The "Language" folder indicated above includes language resource folders identified with four digit language codes.

0C0A	Language resource folder for Spanish
040C	Language resource folder for French
0407	Language resource folder for German
0410	Language resource folder for Italian
0809	Language resource folder for English

Delete unnecessary language System Information Viewer folders in the following location.

(folder that the installer was copied to)\CST\System Information Viewer

de	System Information Viewer folder for German
en-GB	System Information Viewer folder for English
es-ES	System Information Viewer folder for Spanish
fr	System Information Viewer folder for French
it	System Information Viewer folder for Italian

Delete unnecessary language manual folders in the following location.

(folder that the installer was copied to)\iW Desktop Manual\

Deutsch	Manual folder for German
English	Manual folder for English
Espanol	Manual folder for Spanish
Francais	Manual folder for French
Italiano	Manual folder for Italian

NOTE
Delete unnecessary language files from the following html files in the folder that the installer was copied to. Leame.html: Readme file for Spanish Leggimi.html: Readme file for Italian Liesmich.html: Readme file for German Lisezmoi.html: Readme file for French Readme.html: Readme file for English

Open "setup.ini" in a program such as Notepad, and delete the definitions for the languages you deleted in steps 1 to 3.

"setup.ini" is located in the "32bit" folder or "64bit" folder.

The languages for installation are defined using three lines for each language in the [Language] item of "setup.ini", as indicated below.

When you delete a language definition, that language is not displayed in the language selection during installation.

NOTE
A semicolon (;) can be added at the start of unnecessary lines in "setup.ini" to disable those lines. Example) To disable French ;LOCALE1=040C ;EULAFILE1=iWDT LICENCE_FR.txt ;LANGUAGE_ACPLIM1=040C Operations are not guaranteed when you change or disable other lines in "setup.ini".
