Connecting an imageRUNNER ADVANCE Device to a Network
Connect an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device to the network. A host name and IP address are required to identify the device on the network.
Note the following when setting the host name and IP address.
Host Name
Single-byte alphanumeric characters and hyphens (-) can be used for the host name and the characters you use are not case-sensitive. Do not use hyphens (-) at the start or end of the host name.
Do not set a host name comprised of only numbers.
Do not set a host name that is the same as the domain name or that may be confused with the domain name.
Refer to the instruction manuals of the device to set an appropriate name.
IP Address
If you set a global address that may be in use on the internet, you cannot communicate with that device. Make sure to use a private address.
When using a private address, check the private addresses that already exist on the network to ensure that multiple devices with the same IP address do not connect.
