Output Paper Becomes Dirty (Belt Cleaning)

If dirt appears on printed output, clean the belt that is inside of the main unit.

NOTE
If the message prompting you to clean the belt is displayed on the touch panel display, clean the belt. Depending on the paper type or printing image, dirt may appear on printed output.

IMPORTANT
Before starting the belt cleaning, make sure to load three or more sheets of plain paper into the upper paper drawer of the main unit. When loading paper, it is also recommended to use the largest size of paper that you frequently use for printing, such as 330 mm x 483 mm, 305 mm x 457 mm, 320 mm x 450 mm (SRA3), A3, 13" x 19", 12" x 18", 12 5/8" x 17 11/16", 11" x 17". Belt Cleaning cannot be performed during printing.

IMPORTANT

Belt Cleaning cannot be performed during printing.

Press

Press [Adjustment/Maintenance] → [Maintenance] → [Clean Belt].

Press [Start].

It takes approximately 60 seconds to clean the belt.

When cleaning is complete, try scanning again.

NOTE
Any dirt may remain even if you perform the belt cleaning. In this case, perform the belt cleaning again.
