Paper Jams in the Document Insertion Unit-N

Paper jam locations are indicated by numbers such as I1, which are shown in the illustration below.

Remove the paper that is not jammed from the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the upper cover (I1) of the document insertion unit.
Open the upper cover (I1) of the document insertion unit.
If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Check whether paper is jammed in the guide (I2).
Open the guide (I2).
If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the guide (I2) and the upper cover (I1).

While pressing the handle lever, open the document insertion unit.

Check whether paper is jammed in the guide (I3).
Open the guide (I3).
If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.

Close the guide (I3) and the document insertion unit.

Open the front cover of the document insertion unit.

Open the guide (A1).

Check whether paper is jammed in the guide (A1).
If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.
Close the guide (A1).

Open the guide (A2).

Check whether paper is jammed in the guide (A2).
Turn the knob (A3).
If paper is jammed, gently pull it out in the direction of the arrow.
When long paper is jammed
Draw out the end of the paper, and then gently pull out the paper while bending it. In this case, you do not need to turn the knob (A3).

Close the guide (A2) and the front cover.
After you remove jammed long paper and then close the front cover of the insertion unit, a screen may appear prompting you to open the front cover of the Paper Folding Unit-J. You can make this screen disappear by opening and then closing the front cover of the Paper Folding Unit-J.

Replace the paper in the document insertion unit.
Continue following the instructions on the screen to proceed with the interrupted operation or continue clearing paper jams.
If the paper jam message is repeatedly displayed, open the entrance guide located above the knob (A3) on the inside of the front cover, and check whether or not paper remains.
