Using the Machine as a Scanner
The following operations and settings are required to use the machine as a scanner.
1. Connect the machine to the network.
2. Specify the network settings.
For details, see the manual of the imagePRESS Server.
3. Set the key pair used with TLS encrypted communications.
4. Switch the scanner online.
To load scanned images to a computer, set the machine's remote scanner function to online.
Press [Scanner].
Press [Online].
The scanner is online.

Some printer models enable you to set the scanner to go online automatically (see "Automatically Enabling the Remote Scanner Function"). |
5. Scan the original.
For details, see the manual of the imagePRESS Server.
6. Switch the scanner offline.
To use other functions after scanning, such as copying, set the remote scanner function to offline.
Press [Offline] in the [Scanner] screen.
The scanner is offline.
NOTE |
Some printer models enable you to set the scanner to go offline automatically(see "Auto Offline"). You do not have to switch the scanner offline in order to use other functions while data is being transferred. If you press [Offline] while scanning, a dialog box for confirming whether you want to stop scanning is displayed. Click [Yes] to stop scanning and switch the scanner offline. |
