Enabling the Automatic Switch for the Insertion Unit
If the automatic switch for the insertion unit is set to 'On', when the selected tray of the insertion unit runs out of paper during copy/print job, the machine automatically selects another tray of the insertion unit and continues copying/printing. Note that this setting is available only when the Document Insertion Unit-N is attached. (See "Document Insertion Unit-N.")
NOTE |
If either the paper size or type is different one tray from another, the automatic switch for the insertion unit cannot be performed even when it is set to 'On'. |

Press 
(Settings/Registration).
(Settings/Registration).2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Common] → [Paper Feed Settings].

Press [Auto Switch Inserter Paper Source].
4.
Select [On].
Select [Off] if you do not want to enable the automatic switch.
