IMPORTANT |
If the document feed scanning area is dirty, documents may not be scanned clearly, and the size of the document may not be detected correctly. |
NOTE |
This procedure is necessary only if the Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-M is attached. |
1.Wet a soft cloth with water and wring it out well, then wipe the rollers with it. | |
2.Wipe the rollers with a soft and dry cloth. | |
3.If the surrounding areas of the rollers are very dirty, clean them out as well. |
IMPORTANT |
Make sure that no trash such as pieces of paper gets into the groove of the multiple sheet feed detection sensor. If trash does get in, remove it using a soft cloth. |
NOTE |
If you cannot remove the dirt, wet a soft cloth with water and wring it out well, then wipe the machine with it. Afterwards, wipe the machine with a soft and dry cloth. Use the glass cleaning cloth provided as a machine accessory of the Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-M when simple cleaning. When glass cleaning cloth becomes dirty, wash and rinse, and then spread it out to dry. |
1. Pull the lever above the feeder. | |
2. Open the document scan cover. |
IMPORTANT |
Open the document scan cover carefully, as not to scratch the platen glass. |
NOTE |
Use the glass cleaning cloth provided as a machine accessory of the Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-M when simple cleaning. If you cannot remove the dirt, wet a soft cloth with water and wring it out well, then wipe the machine with it. Afterwards, wipe the machine with a soft and dry cloth. When glass cleaning cloth becomes dirty, wash and rinse, and then spread it out to dry. |
1. Close the inside cover. | |
2. Close the document scan cover until it clicks into place. | |
3. Close the feeder. |
CAUTION |
When closing the covers and the feeder, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury. Be aware that the light emitted from the platen glass may be very bright when closing the feeder. |
NOTE |
