Paper Feed Mode for Printer Driver Jobs with the Multi-Purpose Tray

You can set whether to prioritize the printer driver settings or the paper settings in the machine when printing a job with the multi-purpose tray specified as the paper source. In addition, if you prioritized the settings in the machine, set the paper feed mode for when free size paper is set in the multi-purpose tray.

1.
Press (Settings/Registration).
2.
Press [Function Settings] → [Printer] → [Paper Feed Mode for Printer Driver Jobs with MP Tray].
3.
Select the button → press [OK].
[Mode A (Prioritize Printer Driver Settings)]:
Prioritizes the paper settings of the printer driver to feed the paper.
[Mode B (Flexible If Free Size Is Selected)]:
Feeds the paper only if the paper settings for the multi-purpose tray in the machine and the paper settings of the printer driver match. However, if you set free size paper in the multi-purpose tray, the paper is fed regardless of the paper size set in the printer driver.
[Mode C (Feed Only If Paper Settings Match)]:
Feeds the paper only if the paper settings for the multi-purpose tray in the machine and the paper settings of the printer driver match. However, if you set free size paper in the multi-purpose tray, the paper is fed when the paper size set in the printer driver is a custom paper size.
NOTE
If the paper size specified in the printer driver greatly differs from the paper size set in the multi-purpose tray, an error message is displayed.
Take note of the following when free size paper is set for [Mode A (Prioritize Printer Driver Settings)].
When printing on envelopes, be sure to specify the paper type on the printer driver. If it is not specified, printing may not be performed.
A paper jam or another printing problem may occur if the paper type is not specified when printing on other type of paper.
