Preparing to Install Enterprise Management Console V4.x

This section describes the preparations for installing Enterprise Management Console V4.x.

IMPORTANT
You cannot upgrade from version 3.x or earlier of iW Management Console to this version. If you install this version to a computer where version 3.x or earlier of this software is installed, it will be installed as separate software.

Checking the Operation Environment of the Computer

Check the system requirements of the computer where Enterprise Management Console V4.x will be installed.

Confirm the following information to set during installation.

Port numbers that can be used by this software

The default values of the port numbers used by this software are indicated below.

Port numbers/protocols used for accessing the Manager from a Web browser or the Agent: 80/HTTP, 443/HTTPS

Port numbers used by this software internally: 81/HTTP, 444/HTTPS

Port number/protocol used for communication from the Manager to the Agent: 8443/HTTPS

IMPORTANT
Set port numbers that are not used by other applications.

IP address or FQDN (fully qualified domain name) of the computer where the Manager operates

When using SQL Server, the following information for the database to use

Server name

Instance name

Authentication mode

When using SQL Server authentication, the user name and password used by this software for connecting to SQL Server

IMPORTANT
When using SQL Server, SQL Server must be configured before installing this software. For more information, see the following. "Configuring SQL Server" in the User's Guide The same instance of SQL Server can be used for both iW Management Console V3.x and Enterprise Management Console V4.x, but the same database cannot be used.
