Setting the Device Communication Settings

This section describes the communication settings used by this software to communicate with devices.
1.
Select the [Devices] menu > [Device Communication Settings].

Configure the required settings on the [Device Communication Settings] page.
[UDP Communication Settings] tab
[Timeout]
[Retries]
Specify the timeout time and retry count when there is no response from a device during UDP communication.
For information on communication using UDP, see the following.
[Communication Time Settings] tab
Set the time for retrieving the status and counter information from the device.
[Communication Times (Standard)]
Specify the time for retrieving the information.
To specify multiple times, click [Add].
To specify a period that stretches across two days, set a period with 24:00 as the end time and a period with 0:00 as the start time.
[Communication Times (Exceptions)]
Enables you to set a time for retrieving the information for each day of the week. The setting in [Communication Times (Exceptions)] is prioritized over that of [Communication Times (Standard)].
NOTE
In the following cases, this software communicates with devices outside of the set times.
When counter information has not been able to be retrieved for more than 24 hours since the last time
When an event notification is received from a device when an alert occurs in the device, etc.
[Authentication Information] tab
Register the authentication information required for this software to communicate with devices.
IMPORTANT
Make sure to register authentication information for SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.
[Authentication Method]
Select the authentication method and access privileges, and click [Add].
On the [Authentication Information Details] page, click [Add], enter the authentication information, and click [Save].
The authentication method and access privileges that are already registered are not displayed in the drop-down list. Select the target authentication method from the list to check, edit, or add authentication information.
[SNMPv1]
Enter the SNMPv1 community name set in the device.
If the device is set to use a dedicated community, select [Use a dedicated community].
[SNMPv3]
Enter the SNMPv3 user name, authentication password, encryption password, and context name set in the device.
