Adjust Image Quality

This section describes how to adjust image quality for copying and printing.

Auto Adjust Gradation

If color gradation reproducibility has become so poor that the printed gradation differs markedly from the print data, make adjustments to improve color gradation reproducibility.

Correct Shading

If the image areas of the printing have uneven density, this correction adjusts the printing so that the density is even.

Auto Correct Color Mismatch

If the colors of printing run or blur, color mismatch (color misregistration) may have occurred. The problem may be improved by performing color mismatch correction.

Dither Settings

A dither pattern suitable for an image is set to enable the gradations and curves in the image to be reproduced as smoothly as possible in the print.

Color Balance

This setting enables you to perform fine adjustment to the density and strength of the color balance.

Correct Color Cast

You can remove the color cast of any color that appears on a white background during printing.

Correct White Gap

When an area of intense colors which are same as the halftone area is printed immediately after a halftone area, a white gap may occur between the images. This mode can be used to eliminate the white gap between the two areas.

Correct Uneven Gloss for 2-Sided Printing

Uneven image gloss may occur on the rear side of the page when performing 2-sided printing on thin paper. Turn this setting <ON> to prevent uneven image gloss.

Correct Tail End Toner Application

You can disable <Correct Tail End Toner Application> in <Preferences>.

Settings for Mixed Paper Type Printing

When printing a job using multiple paper types, you can improve the productivity of the entire job by specifying <Productivity Priority>.

Low Temperature Environment Mode

If you print high-density images on heavy paper continuously in the low-temperature environment, toner may not be properly applied to the images as the fixing unit is not fully warmed up. You can solve this problem by slowing down the print speed.

Correct Uneven Gloss

When the temperature of the pressure belt rises excessively, uneven gloss may occur. This mode enables you to reduce the uneven gloss by adjusting the temperature rise level of the pressure roller.

Adjust Drum Temperature

In a high-temperature or high-humidity environment, partial distortions, or thin white lines may appear on printed images. You can prevent this problem by adjusting the photoconductor drum temperature.

Special Smoothing

This setting smoothes jagged outlines of dark color characters, lines, figures, photos, images, and gradations by correcting color displacement that occurs in the output.
