Adjust Image Quality
This section describes how to adjust image quality for copying and printing.
Auto Adjust Gradation
If color gradation reproducibility has become so poor that the printed gradation differs markedly from the print data, make adjustments to improve color gradation reproducibility.
Auto Correct Color Tone Settings
If the printed color tones differ markedly from the original, this function adjusts the colors so that the printout is closer to the original.
Color Calibration for Each Paper Type
You can perform color calibration for each paper type.
Correct Density
If the density of the printing is significantly different from the original document, this adjusts the scan density to be closer to the original.
Correct Shading
If the image areas of the printing have uneven density, this correction adjusts the printing so that the density is even.
Auto Correct Color Mismatch
If the colors of printing run or blur, color mismatch (color misregistration) may have occurred. The problem may be improved by performing color mismatch correction.
Full Color Printing Vividness Settings
You can increase the saturation of colors for color printing.
Fine Adjust Zoom
If the size of the image copied is slightly different from the original, fine adjustment is performed so that the printed size more closely matches the size of the original.
Dither Settings
A dither pattern suitable for an image is set to enable the gradations and curves in the image to be reproduced as smoothly as possible in the print.
Color Balance
This setting enables you to perform fine adjustment to the density and strength of the color balance.
Correct Color Cast
You can remove the color cast of any color that appears on a white background during printing or copying.
Correct White Gap
When an area of intense colors which are same as the halftone area is copied or printed immediately after a halftone area, a white gap may occur between the images. This mode can be used to eliminate the white gap between the two areas.
Productivity/Image Quality Priority for Printing
Specify which is prioritized: Productivity and image quality.
Low Temperature Environment Mode
If you print high-density images on heavy paper continuously in the low-temperature environment, toner may not be properly applied to the images as the fixing unit is not fully warmed up. You can solve this problem by slowing down the print speed.
Correct Uneven Gloss
When the temperature of the pressure belt rises excessively, uneven gloss may occur. This mode enables you to reduce the uneven gloss by adjusting the temperature rise level of the pressure roller.
Adjust Drum Temperature
In a high-temperature or high-humidity environment, partial distortions, or thin white lines may appear on printed images. You can prevent this problem by adjusting the photoconductor drum temperature.
Special Smoothing
This setting smoothes jagged outlines of dark color characters, lines, figures, photos, images, and gradations by correcting color displacement that occurs in the output.
Gradation Adjustment During Printing
To maintain the stability of gradation, density, and color, the machine performs the density adjustment internally during printing. The sensor detects the density of a patch, which is created on the Intermediate Transfer Belt every several sheets of paper is printed, to perform the density adjustment. You can increase the frequency of the density adjustment to maintain more stable image quality, if necessary.
Register Color Profile
Use this setting to match colors to other printer models or to ensure that specific colors are reproduced accurately.
