<Adjust Image Quality>
This section describes how to adjust image quality for printing.
<Adjust Print Position>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
You can adjust the print position when printing is lopsided or protruding from the print range.
Adjusting the Print Position<Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
<Special Processing>
You can set <Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode> for when a splattered image, white patches, streaks, etc. appear on the halftone images of twosided print jobs. Immediately after you turn ON the machine in a low temperature environment, if the halftone reproduction of the printout becomes significantly different from the original document, set this mode to <On>.
|
If you set <Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode>, the printing speed for the first sheet becomes slower. |
<Fogging Prevention Mode>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
<Special Processing>
If you are using the machine in a low humidity environment, toner may be applied lightly to an area where supposed to be unprinted (white area). This problem may be solved if you set <Fogging Prevention Mode> to <On>.
|
If <Mode 1> is set, the correction effects becomes weaker, and it becomes stronger if <Mode 2> is set. However, the toner density on the output may become lighter when <Mode 2> is set. |
<Adjust Fixing Level for Envelopes>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
<Special Processing>
When printing on envelopes, if their flaps are glued (which they should not be) or toner fixation is poor, you can adjust the fixing level.
|
If the envelope flap is glued, set the fixing level to <Low>. If toner is not fixed to envelopes well enough, set the fixing level to <High>. This setting is only valid when printing on envelopes. |
<Corr. Fix. for Jobs w/ MP Tray (Heavy 4)>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
<Special Processing>
This mode improves the print result when the image is faint because insufficient toner is fixed to the paper.
|
This setting is only enabled when paper is loaded in the multi-purpose tray and <Paper Type> is set to <Heavy 4>. This setting limits the machine to one-sided printing even when using paper that allows two-sided printing. When set to <On>, the print speed will be slower.
|
<Adjust Density for Specific Paper>
<Set>
<Adjustment/Maintenance>
<Adjust Image Quality>
Printing may become faint on some paper the longer a toner cartridge is used. This setting may improve this problem.
|
This setting is only valid for the following paper types. Plain 3 Heavy 1 Heavy 2 Heavy 3 Heavy 4 Bond Postcard Envelope Pharmacy envelope Set a lower value to reduce the print density and a higher value to increase the print density. Changing this setting also changes the toner consumption. |
