Step 1. Configuring the Remote UI Settings

Start configuring the settings with the downloaded settings list at hand. If you printed out the settings list, you can cross the configured settings off as you go.
Use the Remote UI from a computer to configure the settings efficiently. Start operating the computer after confirming the IP address of the machine, which is required to use the Remote UI.
1
Press the <Counter/Device Information> key or (Status Monitor) key on the control panel of the machine.
2
Make a note of the IP address of the machine, which is displayed on the screen.
3
Enter the IP address that you made a note of in the Web browser of the computer, and press the [ENTER] key on the keyboard.
4
Log in from the Remote UI.
Enter the user name and password of the Administrator user (the user with Administrator privileges).
Select [This Device] as the login destination.
For security reasons, you cannot log in to the Remote UI of the machine using the default password (7654321) of the Administrator user. To log in as the Administrator user, change the password of the Administrator user from the control panel of the machine.
Change the password from <Register/Edit Authentication User> or <Set Administrator Password>. For information on the procedure, see the User's Guide for the model of your machine.
5
Click [Settings/Registration] on the Remote UI portal page.
6
Configure the Remote UI settings as indicated in "Setting Value" in the settings list.
The settings to be configured are in the table with the green heading.
If "Notes" is on the left of "Setting Value", follow the indicated procedure.
*The above is an example. Follow the settings list you prepared.

Ensure that the new password for the Administrator user is managed so that only the necessary administrators know it.
