List of Error Messages (Address Book Diagnostic Tool)

This section describes the error messages displayed while operating Address Book Diagnostic Tool that need to be resolved.

Messages Displayed when [Retrieve Information] Is Clicked

The specified IP address is incorrect. (E001)
Status
The IP address or host name that you entered may be incorrect.
Remedy
Check the IP address or host name of the target printer, and enter the correct information.
No response from the device at IP address <IP address of device>. (E010)
Status
There is no response from the printer.
Remedy
Check whether the power of the printer is ON.
Check whether the print is correctly connected to the network.
The SNMP status is <SNMP error status>. (E011)
Status
You specified the IP address or host name of a device that is not a printer.
Remedy
Check the IP address or host name of the target printer, and enter the correct information.
Could not retrieve the information: <error details> (E013)
Error details: Socket Timeout Error!!
Status
Information could not be retrieved from the printer.
Remedy
Check the SNMP settings and IP address or host name of the target printer, and enter the correct information.
Error details: could not get mib oid from target.
Status
You may have specified a printer than is not a Canon printer. Diagnosis can only be performed for Type I Canon printers.
The device type is unknown. (E020)
Status
The device type of the printer could not be detected.
Remedy
Check whether the target printer supports Address Book Management.
A timeout occurred while retrieving information from the device. (E021)
Status
There is no response from the printer.
Remedy
Check whether the power of the printer is ON.
Check whether the print is correctly connected to the network.
Check the IP address or host name of the target printer, and enter the correct information.
Check whether the authentication information that you entered is correct.
The device is not a Type I device. (E022)
Status
The target printer is not a Type I printer.
Remedy
The Address Book Diagnostic Tool can only perform diagnosis for Type I Canon printers.
The device does not have address book functionality. (E023)
Status
The printer does not have Address Book Management.
Remedy
The Address Book Diagnostic Tool can only perform diagnosis for Type I Canon printers with Address Book Management.

Messages Displayed when [Enable Web Service] Is Clicked

The IP address or the SNMP settings are incorrect. (E100)
Status
The IP address or host name that you entered may be incorrect.
Or, the SNMP settings that you entered may be incorrect.
Remedy
Check the IP address or host name of the target printer, and enter the correct information.
Check the SNMP settings and enter the correct information.
Could not retrieve the web service information: <error details> (E101)
Status
Web service information could not be retrieved from the printer.
Remedy
Check whether the power of the printer is ON.
Check whether the print is correctly connected to the network.
If none of these problems are the cause, execute the Address Book Diagnostic Tool again after starting the printer and waiting for a while.
An SNMP error occurred. You may not have write permission. (E110)
Status
You may have configured SNMP settings without write privileges.
Remedy
Check the SNMP settings of the printer, and enter SNMP information with write privileges.
SNMP error: <SNMP error status> (E111)
Status
SNMP communication failed.
Remedy
Check the displayed error, and correct the SNMP settings.
Could not enable the web service: <error details> (E112)
Status
The Web service could not be enabled.
Remedy
Check whether the power of the printer is ON.
Check whether the print is correctly connected to the network.
Check whether the SNMP community name that you entered is set in the printer.

Messages Displayed when [Export Test] Is Clicked

Could not connect to the device: <error details> (E200)
Status
This software could not connect to the printer.
Remedy
Check the error, and perform the indicated remedy.
Check whether the power of the printer is ON.
Check whether the print is correctly connected to the network.
Could not retrieve an address list from the device at <IP address of device> because a client error occurred. (E210)
Status
The address list could not be retrieved because an operation was being performed on the address book of the printer (such as a control panel operation or import/export operation).
Remedy
Execute the Address Book Diagnostic Tool again after waiting a while.
Could not retrieve an address list from the device at <IP address of device> because of the following: <error details> (E211/E213)
Status
You may have entered incorrect authentication information or authentication information without administrator privileges.
Remedy
Check the authentication information with administrator privileges for the printer, and enter the correct information.
If this error occurs when the [Domain Name] field is blank and you have entered the correct user name and password, enter "localhost" in the [Domain Name] field and click [Export Test] again.
Could not retrieve the authentication token because an authentication error occurred. (E212)
Status
The authentication information that you entered may be incorrect.
Remedy
Check the authentication information with administrator privileges for the printer, and enter the correct information.
If this error occurs when the [Domain Name] field is blank and you have entered the correct user name and password, enter "localhost" in the [Domain Name] field and click [Export Test] again.
