Registering a Key and Certificate or CA Certificate Obtained from an Issuing Authority

Install and register a key and certificate or CA certificate obtained from a digital certificate issuing authority to the machine before starting to use them.
Register the key and certificate or CA certificate using Remote UI from a computer. You cannot use the control panel to register these.
Administrator privileges are required.
Required Preparations
Check the conditions of the key and certificate or CA certificate usable with the machine. Keys and Certificates
When registering a key and certificate, check the password for the private key set in the file.

Log in to Remote UI in System Manager Mode. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Portal Page of Remote UI

Click [Device Management] [Key and Certificate Settings] or [CA Certificate Settings].
The [Key and Certificate Settings] screen or [CA Certificate Settings] screen is displayed.

Click [Register Key and Certificate] or [Register CA Certificate].
The [Register Key and Certificate] screen or [Register CA Certificate] screen is displayed.

Install the key and certificate file or CA certificate file.

Click [Install].

Click [Browse] in [Specify File], and specify the file to be installed.

Click [Start Installation].
The installed file is added to [Installed Key and Certificate] on the [Register Key and Certificate] screen or [Installed CA Certificate] on the [Register CA Certificate] screen.

When registering a key and certificate

To the right of the key and certificate file to register, click [Register].
The [Enter Private Key Password] screen is displayed.

Enter the key name password using single-byte alphanumeric characters, and click [OK].
The registered key and certificate are added to [Registered Key and Certificate] on the [Key and Certificate Settings] screen.
When registering a CA certificate
To the right of the CA certificate file to register, click [Register].
The registered CA certificate is added to [Registered CA Certificate] on the [CA Certificate Settings] screen.

Log out from Remote UI.
Viewing and Verifying Detailed Information of a Registered Certificate
When you click the key name (or certificate icon) in [Registered Key and Certificate] on the [Key and Certificate Settings] screen, the certificate details appear.
On the certificate details screen, click [Verify Certificate] to verify that the certificate is valid.
Viewing and Verifying Detailed Information of a Registered CA Certificate
When you click the issued to location in [Registered CA Certificate] on the [CA Certificate Settings] screen, the CA certificate details appear.
On the CA certificate details screen, click [Verify Certificate] to verify that the CA certificate is valid.
When the Key and Certificate or CA Certificate Cannot Be Deleted
You cannot delete a key and certificate being used. Disable the function being used, or delete these after switching to another key and certificate.
A preinstalled CA certificate cannot be deleted. If a preinstalled CA certificate is not required, click [Disable] to the right of the CA certificate.
