Selecting the Network Connection Method

Set the method for connecting the machine to the network. You can connect to the network using any of the following four methods:
Wired LAN only
Wireless LAN only*1
Connecting to a wired LAN and wireless LAN at the same time*1*2
Connecting to a wired LAN and other wired LAN using a USB-LAN adapter at the same time*2
*1When you use a wireless LAN, the optional Wireless LAN Board is required.
*2You must configure the settings separately for each network when connecting to multiple LANs at the same time. Connecting to Two Different Networks
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using the control panel.
You can also set the IP address using Remote UI from a computer after it has been set on the machine. Managing the Machine from a Computer (Remote UI)
Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.
Required Preparations
The network settings are locked by default. Unlock these settings to enable changes. Unlocking the Network Settings

Log in to the machine as an administrator. Logging In to the Machine

On the control panel, press [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen. [Home] Screen
The [Settings/Registration] screen is displayed.

Press [Preferences]  [Network]  [Select Interface].
The [Select Interface] screen is displayed.

Select the network connection method.

*1If you change the settings from [Main Line] to [Sub Line] or from [Sub Line] to [Main Line], the previous wireless LAN connection settings will be cleared, so you must reconnect to the wireless LAN.
*2The wired LAN connected to the LAN port on the machine becomes the sub line. The wired LAN connected to the machine via a USB-LAN adapter cannot connect using the sub line.
*3The wired LAN connected to the LAN port on the machine becomes the main line, and the wired LAN connected to the machine via a USB-LAN adapter becomes the sub line.

Press [OK].
The settings are applied.
Next, connect to the wired or wireless LAN.
NOTE
When [Main Line] Is Set to [Wired LAN], and [Sub Line] Is Set to a Setting Other Than [Off]
