Preparing to Print and Scan from an Android or Chrome OS Device

When you print and scan from an Android or Chrome OS device, you need to make preparations according to the device, printing method, and scanning method you are using.
Android Devices
Enable the Mopria® function on the machine when you use Mopria® or Default Print Service.
* This setting is not required when you print or scan using Canon PRINT or Canon Print Service.
Chrome OS Devices (Such As Chromebook)
Enable the Mopria® function on the machine.
* You can also use IPP Everywhere to print directly from your device, if your device supports IPP Everywhere. Enable the IPP Everywhere function on the machine when you print using IPP Everywhere.
 
This section describes how to configure the settings using Remote UI from a computer.
On the control panel, select [ Settings/Registration] in the [Home] screen or other screen, and then select [Preferences] to configure the settings. [Network]
Administrator or NetworkAdmin privileges are required.

Log in to Remote UI as an administrator. Starting Remote UI

On the Portal page of Remote UI, click [Settings/Registration]. Remote UI Portal Page

Enable the function on the machine.

Log out from Remote UI.
NOTE
When the Mopria® function or IPP Everywhere function are enabled, the following network settings are also enabled.
mDNS (IPv4/IPv6) [mDNS Settings]
* The mDNS setting for IPv6 is fixed to use the same mDNS name as IPv4.
Network Link Scan (for the Mopria® function only) [Use Network Link Scan]
