Retrieving Device Settings Information

This section describes the method for retrieving device settings information from supported devices.

Method for Retrieving Device Settings Information

Retrieve settings information from a device.
1.
Click [Retrieve].

Enter the information of the device to retrieve device settings information from.
[IP Address]
Enter the IPv4 address of the device.
IPv6 addresses are not supported.
[Administrator ID]
Enter the user name or ID of the administrator, depending on the following authentication method used in the device.
User Authentication : Enter the administrator user name registered in the device.
System Manager ID : Enter the System Manager ID registered in the device.
Domain Authentication : Enter the administrator user name registered in the device.
[Administrator Password]
Enter the password of the user entered in [Administrator ID].
The password is masked.
If an administrator password is not set, leave the password blank.
[Domain Name]
Enter the domain name of the device.
If you are not using domain authentication, leave this blank.
[Encryption Password]
Set the password for encrypting the data for encryption in the device settings information.
The password is masked.
[Confirm]
For confirmation purposes, enter the same password as that entered in [Encryption Password].
[Security Level]
Set the security level of the device settings information.
If the device to retrieve information from does not support security level 2, the security level of the device settings information retrieved from the device will be level 1, even if [Retrieve setting values for Security Level 2] is enabled.

Cautions for Operation
[Categories to Retrieve]
Displays the category of the device settings information to retrieve. Click [Select] to select the category of the device settings information to retrieve.
Only categories that the device supports are retrieved. If only categories that the device does not supported are specified, no device settings information will be retrieved.

On the [Retrieve Device Setting Values File] screen, click [OK].
When retrieval is successful, close the [Retrieve Device Setting Values File] dialog to return to the main screen.
