Types of Data Sent

This section describes the types of data sent from this software to the Remote Monitoring Server.
NOTE
For non-Canon devices that support standard MIB, only the data in service mode counters and status (alert) changes that can be retrieved is sent.

Periodic Sending

In the following cases, data is sent according to the send schedule retrieved from the Remote Monitoring Server.
When HTTPS is the protocol for communication with the Remote Monitoring Server, [Monitoring Mode] is set to [CCA Mode], and [Monitoring Method] is set to [CCA] on the device
In the following cases, data is sent based on the settings in the [System] menu > [Sending Schedule].
When HTTPS is the protocol for communication with the Remote Monitoring Server, [Monitoring Mode] is set to [CCA Mode], and [Monitoring Method] is set to [Polling] on the device
When HTTPS is the protocol for communication with the Remote Monitoring Server and [Monitoring Mode] is set to [Standard Mode]
When SMTP Is the Protocol for Communication with the Remote Monitoring Server.
Information retrieved with a counter monitoring task
The following information is retrieved from the device every eight hours.
Data type
Description
Billing counters
Includes information on the service mode counters, all resource counters, and department counters.
Service mode counters *1 are also retrieved at the time of event notification, in addition to periodic retrieval.
Mode counters
The usage counts for each mode.
Part counters
The information for each part.
Environment log/condition log
The log for the device internal temperature, humidity, and fixing unit (roller) surface temperature. The environment log is not retrieved from models that support the condition log.
Firmware information
The firmware change information.

All resource counters are only retrieved from devices that support all resource counters.
NOTE
When operating this software using the SMTP communication mode, the following information is not retrieved.
Department counters
Environment log/condition log
If [Monitoring Method] is set to [CCA] in the device, the following information is also sent.
Power state, job information, UI operation log, user authentication (login/logout), toner consumption, authentication errors/logout, and setting value changes, etc.

Immediate Sending

The following information retrieved from the device is sent when an event is detected and periodically (every five minutes).

The information on jams (paper jams) that have occurred.

IP-MAC mismatch notification
The information on mismatches that occur when the registered IP address and MAC address do not match.
IP-serial mismatch notification
The information on mismatches that occur when the registered IP address and serial number do not match.
Toner bottle replacement alarm
This software cannot retrieve toner bottle replacement alarms from some models *1. This software generates virtual toner bottle replacement alarms based on remaining toner information retrieved from such models.

When Launching or Configuring This Software

When launching or configuring this software, the following information is sent to the Remote Monitoring Server. This enables the information to be confirmed on the screen of the Remote Monitoring Server.

NOTE
Information is sent from this software to the Remote Monitoring Server at the following times.
When a connection with the Remote Monitoring Server is successfully configured in the [System] menu > [Connection Settings]
When a connection between this software and the Remote Monitoring Server is successfully configured in [Connection Settings], the information of this software is sent at the following times.
When the Canon Data Collection Agent service starts
When [Monitoring Mode] is set to [CCA Mode] or changed in the [Devices] menu > [Device Communication Settings] > [Monitoring Mode] tab
When the setting in [Auto Update] is changed in the [System] menu > [Agent Information] page
When this software is upgraded from version 2.0.5 to a newer version
Information regarding the automatic update setting is also sent to the Remote Monitoring Server, but cannot be checked on the screen of the Remote Monitoring Server.
