<Adjust Image Quality>
This section describes how to adjust image quality for printing.
<Adjust Print Position>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>
You can adjust the print position when printing is lopsided or protruding from the print range.
Adjusting the Print Position<Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
You can set <Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode> for when a splattered image, white patches, streaks, etc. appear on the halftone images of two sided print jobs. Immediately after you turn ON the machine in a low temperature environment, if the halftone reproduction of the printout becomes significantly different from the original document, set this mode to <On>.
|
If you set <Waterdrop Pattern Prevention Mode>, the printing speed for the first sheet becomes slower. |
<Reduce Paper Sticking at Output>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
In 2-sided printing, printed paper may stick to each other depending on the image density of print data. In this case, setting this item to <On> may solve the problem.
|
If you set to <On>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Reduce Ghosting>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
When you print on large size paper after printing on small size paper, afterimages may appear in blank areas. In this case, setting this item to <On> may solve the problem.
|
If you set to <On>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Reduce Wrinkles (from Humidity)/Streaks>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
If printouts have creases when damp paper is used or if streaks appear in the leading edge of paper when images with halftones such as photos are printed, setting to <On> may solve the problem.
|
If you set to <On>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Paper Wrinkle Correction>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
Printouts may wrinkle depending on the paper to use. In this case, setting this item to <On> may solve the problem.
|
If you set to <On>, the print may be faded or the printing speed may be slower. |
<Streak Prevention>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
Streaks may appear on printouts depending on the paper type or the environmental conditions. In this case, setting this item may solve the problem. The improvement effect is weakest with <Mode 1> and strongest with <Mode 4>.
|
As the improvement effect is increased, the print density becomes lighter. In addition, the edges may be blurred or roughness may be slightly emphasized. If you select <Mode 3> or <Mode 4>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Curl Prevention Mode>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
You can set <Curl Prevention Mode> to reduce curling on the end of paper due to the heat and pressure of the fixing assembly during printing.
|
If this setting is set to <On>, it may affect the printing quality. |
<Quiet Mode>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
When printing sounds bother you, set this item to <On>.
|
If you set to <On>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Adjust Fixing Level for Envelopes>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
When printing on envelopes, if their flaps are glued (which they should not be) or toner fixation is poor, you can adjust the fixing level.
|
If toner fixation is poor, set this to <Standard>. When you set this to <Standard>, the printing speed may be slower. If toner fixation is still poor even when <Standard> is set, set this to <High>. When you set this to <High>, the printing speed may be slower. |
<Reduce Toner Flaking from Postcards>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>

<Special Processing>
When you print on postcard, toner may come off printed images depending on the environmental conditions. In this case, setting this item to <On> may solve the problem.
|
If this setting is set to <On>, the paper may curl. |
<Adjust Density for Specific Paper>
<Set>

<Adjustment/Maintenance>

<Adjust Image Quality>
When printing become faint on some paper after the toner cartridge is used for a long time, this setting may improve this problem.
|
This setting is only valid for the following paper types. Heavy Bond Letterhead 3 Letterhead 4 Letterhead 5 Letterhead 6 Label Postcard Envelope Set a lower value to reduce the print density and a higher value to increase the print density. Changing this setting also changes the toner consumption. |
