Solve Printer Connection Problems
If there is a problem with printer search and registration or a printer cannot be connected with a direct connection, try these fixes.
If a printer is not detected even after you have confirmed that there are no problems with the following, the printer may be detected after you restart the smartphone.
If the printer is still not detected, consult your network administrator about the network environment.
Cause 1.
There is a problem with the network settings of this app.
Remedy
Check whether the same SNMP community name is set in the printer and this app.
You can check the SNMP community name set in this app in the following.
Home screen > [

] (Menu) > [App Settings] > [SNMP Community Name]
Cause 2.
There is a problem with the network settings of the smartphone.
Remedy
Check for the following.
If Wi-Fi is disabled
Enable Wi-Fi.
If the IP address of the DNS server used for Wi-Fi is invalid
Set the correct IP address of the DNS server.
If the printer is not detected, it may be detected by searching again.
If mobile communication and Wi-Fi are both enabled

Disable mobile communication.
If an HTTP proxy is set
Configure the proxy in the following item of this app.

Home screen > [

] (Menu) > [App Settings] > [Proxy Settings]
Do not use a proxy. Or specify the IP address or DNS name (FQDN) of the printer as a host not using the proxy.
With iOS, this app cannot connect to the printer if an HTTP proxy is set.
For details on the HTTP proxy settings, consult your network administrator.
Cause 3.
There is a problem with the network settings of the printer.
Remedy
Check for the following.
If the use of SNMPv1 is disabled
Enable the use of SNMPv1.
Is an incorrect gateway address or subnet mask set
Set the correct values.
Cause 4.
There is a problem with the network environment
Remedy
If the printer name is resolved on a DNS server, check whether the IP address of the printer is correctly registered in the name resolution table (normal/reverse resolution).
When the name resolution table is updated, it may take some time until the changes are reflected in the smartphone.
If that happens, restart the smartphone. Or, disconnect and reconnect the Wi-Fi network.
For details on the name resolution table, consult your network administrator.

Cause 1.
The smartphone and printer are connected to a different network.
