Solve Scanning Problems
If scanning fails or scanning does not give the desired results, try these fixes.
Scanning Fails (with an imageFORCE/imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series Printer)
Cause 1.
The same WebDAV port number is not registered in the printer and this app.
Remedy
Set the same WebDAV port number to the printer as that in this app.
In this app, you can confirm it in the following setting of the printer to use for scanning.
[Printer Details] screen > [Printer Settings] > [WebDAV Port]
Do not use a port number already configured for other settings on the smartphone.
Cause 2.
A proxy is enabled in the network settings of the printer.
Remedy
Disable the proxy settings in the network settings of the printer.
For information on printer settings, consult the administrator of the printer.
Cause 3.
The resolution of the scanned data is too high.
If the resolution of the scanned data is too high, the operations of this app may become unstable.
Remedy
Lower the resolution when scanning.
Cause 4.
The settings of the printer cannot be used for scanning with this app.
Remedy
Configure the printer as follows.
Disable SSL and TLS in the MEAP application settings.
Use a certificate of version "X.509v3" or later.
If the printer is not configured as above, scanning cannot be performed from this app, even if the printer supports Scan for Mobile or has Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application installed.
For information on printer settings, consult the administrator of the printer.
Scanning Fails (with an imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series Printer)
Cause
The resolution of the scanned data is too high.
If the resolution of the scanned data is too high, the operations of this app may become unstable.
Remedy
Lower the resolution when scanning.
Cannot Scan 2-Sided Originals as Intended
Cause 1.
A landscape oriented original or feeder is used.
When scanning a landscape oriented original from the feeder, even numbered pages may not be scanned with the correct orientation.
Remedy
Scan without using the feeder or perform 1-sided scanning.
Cause 2.
Scanning was performed with both of the following conditions met.
The file format of the scanned data is the PDF (OCR) or OOXML (docx) format
The function for automatically detecting the original orientation is enabled on the printer
If both of the above conditions are true, scanning may be performed with an orientation that differs from the scan settings of this app.
Remedy
Change the file format of the scanned data to another format or disable the function for automatically detecting the original orientation.
Scan Data is Separated and Stored
Cause
Multiple originals were scanned and outputted as JPEG format files.
Remedy
Output the originals as files in a format other than JPEG.
Cannot Send the Scan Destination to the Printer

Cause
A proxy user name is set in this app.
Remedy
Change the settings in the following item so that a proxy is not used.
