Changing the Period of Time before Entering Sleep Mode
You can change the period of time before entering sleep mode. You can also specify a certain time for the machine to enter sleep mode.
Changing the period of time before entering sleep mode
It is recommended to use the default setting to reduce power usage effectively. To change the period of time to enter the sleep mode, follow the steps below.

Select <Menu> in the Home screen.

Select <Preferences>
<Timer/Energy Settings>
<Auto Sleep Time>.

Specify the period of time to enter the sleep mode, and select <Apply>.
Entering sleep mode at a specified time
You can set the machine to enter sleep mode at a specified time. You can also set the machine to exit sleep mode at a specified time.

Situations in which the machine does not enter sleep mode,
The machine is in operation.
The Data indicator is lit up or blinking.
The machine is performing an operation such as adjustment or cleaning.
A paper jam occurs.
The receiver of the external telephone is off the hook.
The machine is set to not emit the fax incoming ringtone.
The menu screen is displayed.
A job is waiting to be scanned to a USB memory device or to a computer.
An error message is displayed on the screen. (There are some exceptions. The machine sometimes enters sleep mode when an error message is displayed.)
The machine is communicating with an LDAP server, etc.
The SSID/network key screen for Direct Connection is displayed.
Settings are being imported or exported.
