Installing Using a WSD Port

This explains the procedure for searching for devices on a network from Windows using a WSD (Web Services on Devices) port and installing the driver.
You cannot install multiple drivers in the computer you want to install a driver in using a WSD port. If you are installing a new driver, do so after first uninstalling the drivers. If you want to install multiple drivers, share a standard TCP/IP port.

Prerequisites

Page Description Language selection (Plug & Play) function settings of the device
Set [PDL Selection (Plug and Play)] at the device to match the driver you are using. For details about the setting method, refer to the manual of the device.

Specify a temporary port ([LPT1] etc.) and install the driver.

Procedures

2.
In [Printers & scanners], click [Add a printer or scanner] > [Add device] (or [Add a printer or scanner]).

NOTE
After installation using the WSD port is complete, the device added to the printer list of Windows during installation specifying the temporary port is unnecessary.

Refer to the above procedure for how to display the printer list of Windows.
