Installing FlexNet Device Manager/LicenseTools

Copy FlexNet Device Manager and LicenseTools from the Floating License Installation Media to manage floating licenses with a local license server.

NOTE
Your server administrator should perform this procedure on the local license server.

Copying FlexNet Device Manager/LicenseTools

1.
Copy the "Flexnet Device Manager" folder and "LicenseTools" folder from the Floating License Installation Media to a location of your choice on the local disk.
NOTE
Operation is not guaranteed in the following cases.
When started from a location other than a local folder
When the content or folder structure of the copied folder is changed
To uninstall FlexNet Device Manager/LicenseTools, exit the programs and delete the folder you copied.
Set the environment variable as indicated below.
CATALINA_HOME: Set this to the "Flexnet Device Manager" folder path you copied.

Starting the FlexNet Device Manager

1.
Start the command prompt.
2.
Execute the "startup.bat" file in the "Flexnet Device Manager" > "bin" folder you copied.
NOTE
If an error regarding environment variables is displayed, configure the correct environment variables.
The "startup.bat" file can also be executed by double-clicking it. However, errors are not displayed in this case.
To confirm that the software is running, enter the following address in a Web browser.
http://localhost:8080/fneserver

Exiting FlexNet Device Manager

1.
Start the command prompt.
2.
Execute the "shutdown.bat" file in the "Flexnet Device Manager" > "bin" folder you copied.
NOTE
The "shutdown.bat" file can also be executed by double-clicking it. However, errors are not displayed in this case.
