Enabling Explorer Preview

When you preview an Office document in the Preview Pane in Desktop Browser, enable Windows Explorer preview.
Note
The Desktop Browser preview function and the Windows Explorer (Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1) preview function are the same. Enabling the Desktop Browser setting to preview Office documents is unrelated to the [Show preview handlers in preview pane] setting in the Windows Explorer folder options. Previewing is performed separately for each file type, and, although uncommon, unique file types may not be able to be previewed. In this case, confirm whether you can preview the file type in Windows Explorer.
When using Microsoft Office 2003, Excel and Word documents cannot be previewed. PowerPoint documents are previewed as thumbnails of large icons.
In the following cases, you can also preview saved message files (.msg).
If the default mail program is Outlook 2003 or later
If the computer's OS is Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1
