To display the status of the device in Quick Printing Tool, you need to configure the view settings. For more information on this procedure, see the following.

The monitoring period of Quick Printing Tool is 30 seconds. If the 30 second monitoring period elapses with the mouse pointer not over Quick Printing Tool, the device status icon is hidden.
|
(Ready)
|
Displayed when the device is running correctly.
When the mouse pointer is placed over it, the status message <Ready> is displayed.
|
(Error)
|
Displayed in the following cases.
When an error such as a paper jam, toner out, or paper out error has occurred, meaning printing cannot proceed.
When the device status cannot be confirmed due to network trouble or the power being turned off
When the mouse pointer is placed over it, the status message <Error> is displayed.
|
(Warning)
|
Displayed in the following cases when a device warning has occurred.
When the device is in sleep or another standby mode
When the device is running out of toner
When a paper drawer is out of paper
When the mouse pointer is placed over it, the status message <Warning> is displayed.

(Getting Status)
|
Displayed when the status of the device is being retrieved, such as immediately after placing the mouse pointer over Quick Printing Tool.
When the mouse pointer is placed over it, the status message <Getting Status> is displayed.

(Monitoring Not Possible)
|
Displayed in the following cases.
When only the fax has been configured
When the device is one in which monitoring is not possible
When the Output Manager Service (the Windows service to search devices and obtain IP addresses) is halted and the device status cannot be obtained.

When there is no display icon
(Not Monitored)
|
If monitoring is not being performed, the icon is not displayed.
|
(Offline)
|
Displayed when the device is offline.
When the mouse pointer is placed over it, the status message <Offline> is displayed.

Note

When multiple statuses have been obtained, they are displayed in the following order of priority.
Error > Offline > Warning > Ready
If the device set in Quick Printing Tool cannot be monitored because it has been deleted by another user, etc., restart Printer Monitor or set Quick Printing Tool again.
