要使用Mac OS 9操作系统通过AppleTalk网络进行打印，需要使用与Mac OS一同由Apple Inc.提供的PS打印机驱动程序。
如果使用Macintosh，则无法使用PCL打印机驱动程序。
如果在Macintosh环境中使用UFR II打印机驱动程序或PS打印机驱动程序，则无法通过AppleTalk网络打印文档。
如果使用Windows 2000，则需要安装SP2或更高版本。
如果使用Mac OS X，有关打印机驱动程序的信息，请参阅"从计算机打印(Mac)."
使用Mac OS X 10.3.9或更高版本/10.4时，如果将Apple Inc.提供的PS打印机驱动程序与Mac OS一起使用，只能通过SMB/CIFS网络打印。
本机不支持Macintosh LocalTalk网络。
